Something like a PDL license ar?

But then, who grants to the old bird organisers? internal approval? Then if their quality degrade?

Also, should we have it for models as well?

thread moved to FAQ & Feedback for more serious discussions

Hi Colin,

I find that your suggestion is interesting but there are a couple of underlying details that need to be worked out. Let our Admin and Mod team discussed about this. Thanks for your proposal and input to improve the Photoshoot industry in Clubsnap. Cheerz.

Hope to see more inputs and views from other members and shoot organisers too.

Regards,
Francis

should be approached as an Accredited Shoot Organizer program

interesting suggestion.

we will definitely discuss it.

Thank you Mods for considering the above proposal...

CS have come along way...and we hope that in not so distance future, one can be proud to be call a CS Shoot Organiser. (license or no license)

I hope you all don't mind a suggestion from a newbie which is
All organisers of photoshoots should adopt the use of "Model Releases" or state terms and conditions as to what photos taken during the shoot can be used for.
I believe this is already in practice by model agencies.
It would eliminate somebody from the press (or sammy-boy forum) joining the shoot and using the photos without control if it is specifically stated that the photos are for the participant's personal use in a portolio (or a specific photography form/s).
Just a little understanding, to safeguard organisers, models and participants.
if i've paid money to join a photoshoot, i dont think i'll want to be limited to using the photos for my portfolio only. who knows, one might even get an award winning picture from a modeshoot and have buyers that are willing to pay a lump sum for its use

To the rest who have contributed in this thread....my final thoughts...

A Shoot Organiser is like a restaurant/eating place....

Like most, I often go for cheap and good food. Example '5-star' chicken rice store @ Katong...only $3.50 per plate. Super nice! Super Siok!
~ Just like most CS shoots that offer bikini/lingerie theme shoots @ around $50

Occasionally, we spurge abit, and maybe go for the $16 chicken rice @ a 'certain' hotel...though expensive...but the feeling to spend on good food with good embience is GREAT!
~ Just like CS shoots that offer themed-based shoots in Hotel/Studio @ a $$$ price

As CS provides choices for paying photographers to choose, CS like (Ministry of Health)...have to ensure the 'Food' is clean, 'Restuarant' is safe etc...

Resturant also must have license ma...if any one wants to organise shoot with no decent 'food' or 'service standards' then don't need to give them license...poisoning also NOT CS problem...

A great idea I think.

I am not such a shooter or an organiser of any type, but I do see the point.

Only, who would have the spare time to moderate this let alone work out the guidelines ?

I would guess that the CS mods and admin already have their time taken up with what they are doing already.

So, why not the admins and mods put together a list of members that they can see (from those members ability and contribution to the art).

Then contact each of the members of the list and ask them if they are willing to work with each other as a group.

This group (that will have their names withheld to all else) make up a jury.

This jury decides what does and does not happen as far as approval is granted.

No one knows the names of the members of the jury and as such there is no come back to any of them individually, only to the jury.

Just a thought.

Sound complicated ? ...no it is simpler really. It is anonymous and taken away from CS propper.

All it requires is a group of trusted well thinking people that think of it as a better good for the cause.

Cheers :)

This is an interesting proposal and one that we will definitely have a more in-depth discussion on.

One thing that has kept us from requesting copies of identification papers is the legality and liabilities (potentially) of us keeping such records - perhaps someone who has a background in law can advise us on this aspect.

The rest of the suggestions - panel of members to review and approve, fees and structure etc - can be easily implemented within the forum framework.

You know where to find me on MSN if the Admin team requires assistance and we can discuss further exactly what is needed to get this done :)

Speaking of which, I've been trying to get some help on my webspace :P
