My personal view : The traditional Liverpool should play a flow of attacking footballl. And the team stay in very united...that show the team spirit, fair play, anti racism and the fans would create an atmosphere in Anfield that scared off any visitor team..and of course..being humble (had u ever heard any football fans that hate Liverpool as a team or labelled them being irrogant??) although we dominated 70s and 80s.

That's the reason why I supported liverpool since young and till now.
And also why I hate the scums (for being arrogant). :D

I agree with you that liverpool need to be globalise in order to close the gap between us and the top 3.

Give Benitez some time to get the squad he wants and then I believe we will get to see a very good show.

Hope everything is heading for the better. Although wasn't really impressed when I was watching the last game. But definitely, less pumping the ball up for the strikers to "catch" and more pass and move. That's a good sign.

Yes yes. That's what happens when you don't have owen. Now if only England can do the same. ;p

With Xabi alonso in, should have more passing movements than the typical long ball forward. Just like the good old days when Molby was commanding from midfield.

I assume u are same age as me or even younger....and we then look at 80s rather than 70s.

Striker : Ian Rush (Welsh) , Peter Beardsley (English)
Midfielder : Dalglish (Scottish), Barnes (English), Jan Molby (Danish)
Defender : Steve Nicol (Scottish), Mark Lawrenson (Irish), Steve McMahon (English)
Keeper : Bruce Grobbelaar (South African born Irish)

out of 11, 3 english player.

and we have now gerrard...carranger....and Kirsland...about the similiar %.

Actually, you have to understand that in matters like these, I think you would safely include the Scots and Welsh and Irish as local players. Which leaves the percentage very skewed.

But I don't care about that, and I agree with you, we can be hopeful certainly.

well, so much for the talk. Hope the action matches it.

Alamak,

Nunez twisted his knee during training at Melwood.....haven't play injured liao.....so jinx???? :dunno:

Now waiting for the Alonso signing......... :bsmilie:

how ironic...
jus signed and now got injured.. :(

hope he doesn't fall down the stairs after signing :)
anyway, sometimes a lack of depth is good cos a lot of the youngsters never got a chance under houllier.
anyway, i feel that the cause for optimism is not so much in the quality of the squad on paper but rather the hope that the new manager can make them play like an 11-men team rather than 11 men playing by themselves as they often did under houllier.
here's to exciting, attacking football (hopefully).

my favourite player in red since the premiership began! was very sad when he left. always remember his goals vs aston villa in carling cup!
other faves: redknapp and heggem (all gone now :dunno: )

yes...fowler. my all time favoruite Liverpool player.

btw...Garcia set to join Liverpool according to football365.com

He's also a left-sided midfielder right? What about Kewell? No doubt that he has not hit top form but i'm sure wif a few more games and under a new palying style he's bound to shine again.

not to forget that Kewell played as a striker for Leeds and he did score goals.

He can play for LMD or Striker (we only have baros, Cisse and Signama).

Garcia is player for both R or L wing.

but he won;t be able to play tomorrow against Man City. with Nunez injured..tomorrow line up I would expect to be more or less as the previous week.
