According to FIFA world rankings as of today , USA is at 6th and England at 8th.

If England to play Rooney and Crouch as their main striker..I can see that England to fall out from 10th.

hehe... USA at 6th.... now u really wonder how FIFA ranks the team.... btw, i think Singapore ranking is not far behind Wales... Imagine our Noh Alam Shah is almost equal to Giggs and Bellamy and gang!!

If smith played every match and he scores less than 9 goals, of course he's a flop. However, i would rate him as ok as he scored quite a few goals when come on subs and before rooney arrive and RVR returns.

then u tell me why smith is not playing every match. if he is damn good..u think fergi want to rest him ??

before he joined MU, he was with Leeds, playing almost every EPL matches (except side line for Red card ban). and yet..he could not score 10 goal every seasons. May be only 1 seasons he scored 11.

actually, Singapore is not that bad in the world soccer standings. we jus need more exposure and matches against quality teams like Wales, Scotland, China, Kuwait, etc.etc.

we can't always be happy playing against teams that are of our own ability such as Indonesia, Malaysia*RESPECT!* etc.etc.. we need to play oppositions that are way classier and better than us in oder to really gauge the difference and see the gap.

but dun think those teams are keen to play against us. how sad!

I think a lot liverpool fans in liverpool dun really think much of Owen as he's an EVERTON FAN and when we plays for Liverpool, he dun show the same kind of passion as say Fowler,Carra and Gerrard. Heck, even Carra, also an EVERTON fan, plays with much more passion and conviction.

I believe it's very possible Owen will sign for Man U(rumours is Giggs +6m pound for Owen) as he's quite shameless and prob would care less for liverpool fans...

I dun think SG is lousy.. but we must at least be able to compete against the likes of Thailand, Japan and SK and CHina before we take on the big boys lah... You won't gain much getting trashed... just like San Marino etc...

I think smith is not that good. Thats why he isn't in Man Utd 1st 11 and England's but still, i think he is better than Crouch. :bsmilie: Last season, he has very little chances and still score more than 10 goals. Like i said, my goal estimate for a striker is based not only on apperence, also the strength of his team. :sweatsm:

Ole and smith has little chances but still how they managed to score more than 10 in a season? They're no superman, its the team that matters. Also, his role at Leeds wasn't the out and out striker (Jimmy is). He plays Heskey's role, supporting provider.

We have avenue whereby we can play against them... problem is we fail to qualify... World cup qualifiers, asian games etc are all chances to play against them and we did... I recall we lost recently to Japan...

It is obviously not right... Well... the problem is the ranking (i believe as i dun even bother to look at the procedures, tired la...) only take into account the matches played between the teams. So an US team beats Brazil in certain match (as long as FIFA sanctioned, can be friendly also if i am not wrong), they will gain many ranking points..

The example i mentioned earlier, it is possible that Wales is ranked below Singapore... it is, thats how complicated and irrational the ranking works.. But does it mean Singapore is a better team? Definitely not right?
