Figo sets to join Liverpool
I guess Liverpool will be paying Figo a high salary, maybe close to what they are paying Gerrard. Thats why they would prefer to get Figo on a free transfer.
I think Figo is ok... I always feels that he's the type that have competitive drive. Look at how he drives the Portugal national team...Cheesecake said:wa say, mixed feelings over his capture.![]()
i hope he'll not be a disruptive influence in the team.
Liverpool prob pays about the same as Gerrard, not more. We will keep to this wage structure. So my guess will be 100,000 pound/week tops.kenshinz said:If he can play with the same passion he did for Porrtugal during Euro 2004, then he can be a major influence for the team. However, I really wonder how much is Liverpool paying him....AND WHY STILL NO NEW SIGNING FOR DEFENDERS ???

His fitness may be down a bit and quickness no there.. but he is still a very good player, esp for freekicks which we s*cks! Moreover, he's more of a conventional winger and can player as secondary striker or in the hole. Overall, should be a good capture. 2m pound can't even buy wayne routeledge and Real paid 37m pound for Figo 5 years ago... not a bad piece of business.

As for defenders, most likely and frequently mentioned are Upson and Milito... Both shd be good.
If we are buying CD, prob shd buy now in case cup-tied like Pelle... Unless is player like Upson, then maybe only tied for FA & league cup still ok but definitely not CL.wong_se said:for me..we have let go Pelle (thanks God)...I would give a chance for Whitebred to senior team.
and we are going to let go Josemi (thanks God)...and we have Barragan to cover Finnan. And we have a superb RB to cover for Finnan as well. Remember gerrard was playing RB at the last 20 min in the match vs AC milan ?
we could not really get some players as defender (CB)....i think we still can tahan for 1 season.
May be at Jan tranfer window.
nemesis32 said:i dun think whitbread is ready for 1st team yet.. maybe gradually play him as subs and in league cup ties.
nemesis32 said:I agree we must play youngsters like how we involved Warnock last season... but dun throw them into deep end when they are not ready. It may affect their confidence. Of the youngsters, i think all are very good and i hope Mellor can develop into a good striker. Sinama also very quick and tricky but too small size.

Seems like u have far more a better football brain than Mourinho and Peter Kenyon.
Care to introduce yourself....I think FAS will be interested to appoint u as techincal director.
