didnt noe play offs got trophy.. not bad huh

probably inscribed on it "go straight back to 1st division, do not pass go and collect $200" :dunno: it's so hard for div 1 teams to survive their first year in the EPL these days.

nope. a bit unfair actually. ipswich finished third on the table, far above the next team (9 points) but kena kick out in playoffs. why not just let the third placed team in? the playoffs are more exciting but kinda unfair.

But the top 2 are automatic promotion spots mah. Same as Div 2 and 3. I think they wanna make it more interesting and open up more chances for teams that finish outside of the top 2.

WBA did it man. Unbelievable! Robson must be on cloud 9.
At least, even if they go down, they smashed and grab 20M pounds plus misc....etc

well....

but they would have higher wages to pay mah...

so need more money...

true lor but they spend a lot too. some clubs spend so much on new signings to try and stay up that they are actually in the red by the end of the epl season.

but really respect WBA, they did a great job especially with the squad they had.

more exciting definitely, but imagine how ipswich players must feel. they did so well over the season, got killed in 2 matches and suddenly you're back to div 1 again. damn sian man.
kena before last time in CM :bsmilie: my poor petersborough was double digits ahead of the fourth team but lost in finals....heart pain man. imagine in real life.

why need playoffs??

then we should have play offs for relegations too....

i wonder what's wrong with the formula in the EPL. if you look at the other leagues, especially italian, german or spanish, the promoted sides actually can do very well in the top flight. but it's a rarity in the EPL.

the gap (and money) is too large....

Haha football and its rules! In CM, i once brough Wycombe Wonderers from Div 3 to premiership. :bsmilie: CL

Italy have playoffs for relegations. the bottom 4 and 5 will playoff i guess. 4 teams will go down.

Yup, very often, those promoted are very much poorer than their EPL counterparts.

The gap is closer in other countries i guess. Only the big clubs are super rich, hence you have 29 times domestic champions like Juv and Madrid.

yah lor. i like the italian system. fairer cos it gives you a fighting chance cos you play off against the lower division side looking to move up. they still use it now? cos from reports this season they never mention playoffs. like for brescia, it just said they got relegated. poor brescia, they must have missed their divine ponytail, my all time favourite player :dunno:

not as solid as you,. my petersborough made it to EPL but never CL, always fighting relegation. everytime a player plays well, the big clubs wanna buy. i dun sell, he unhappy then play badly. haiz :bsmilie:

I think they still do. Florentina survive the playoffs. But i dunno who go down.

The key to making a small club into a big one in CM is stadium size. I always cheat a little at the end of the season to try to get bigger capacity expension for the stadium. Just reset till I get approx 7000-9000 increase. :sweatsm:

basket. you're right. always keep asking for increasing stadium seating. cos start of every season, i definitely need the funds from season tickets sales. i think i misunderstood a bit, do serie A and serie B teams play each other? or only serie A team play serie A team to determine relegation?

Not entirely true...
Leeds won the league when they were promoted... Strachan was still playing for them then.
Likewise, Fulham, Birmingham, Bolton, Charlton etc have done well over the past 5-10 years to consolidate and stay competitive.

Those big clubs like Ipswich, Nottingham Forest, Sheff Wed, Leeds of yesterdays have suffered as they don't make the immediate jump back to EPL....

It's two serie A side playoff lah... If playoff against Serie B side, it would not be fair...

hamann's the man!!!

so the board only offered him a one year extension, that's not very good. for his own future, he should've moved on.

According to the article, I think his future is with Liverpool. There are not many good DMCs around these days.

Join bolton? No CL, weaker team with El Haji Douif? How to spell his name? :sweatsm:

Goat: nemesis32 is right. If i am not wrong, the 4th and 5th from bottom will playoff in Serie A.
