Why can't they beat the BIG teams when it mattered:cry:

becos we're not actors??

robben is really the no.1, alongside drogba, crespo, joe cole, essien,...

in fact the whole chelski team! a slight touch and they fall to the ground as if they're gunned down and lay dead for a long while.:bsmilie:

it'll be interesting to see how manutd handle their theatrics.:thumbsd:

i noticed that mourinho is a very good tactician.
before, chelski had a really difficult time containing Crouch. but in this game, Mourinho assigned Terry to man-mark him, and, got Makelele(or essien)to close him down when he controlled the ball with Terry behind Crouch's back, pressuring him.

Benitez should partner Crouch with Morientes. that will really throw the chelski rearguard off abit.

but Chelski had all the luck of a champ and deserved their victory. next season might be a hell lot more different.

hmmm

lets see

From my point of view there were only 2 things that seperated Chelski and Pool,

1) Oscar winning performances (We know who)

2) A natural finisher in the box. If Cisse got a decent run of games, maybe he could develop a good understanding with the rest of the players and start scoring lots of goals, but as Bennitez doesn't seem to like him, and keeps playing him on the right, which he seems to hate, can't see that happening. Crouch never was and never will be a finisher, and that is not why he is there, he needs a finisher to benefit from the work he does. Morrientes, unused sub, even if he was brought on wouldn't have made a difference, total waste of time and money. Sell him!!

Need Fowler to be in form, (looks good so far, based on his last few Man City games, and the Birmingham one) Will he be able to deserve the GOd title again? Hope so, because he looks to be the best striker we have at the moment.

We are probably 2 players from Chelsea's 1st team.
- A prolific and quick goal scorer (ala Owen, Or another 15m pound star striker)
- A right winger who can get past and skin any defender whilst hugging the touchline.

Because of limited funds, we have to rely on not-so-good but still quite capable covers already on the bench and in the youth team to ‘dong’ when there are injuries, suspensions or rests.

Until we sign the 2 1st team player we need, I would say that we would always have problems playing the other top teams (ala Chelsea, ManU and Arsenal/Spurs).

take heart guys. we shot ourselves in the foot with this match. :thumbsd:

the tactics and team selection was wrong to begin with. note - i am blaming rafa and i think he knows it himself. :nono:

a very conservative 4-5-1 formation with three fast attack midfield behind the lone striker and two sitting defensive midfield in front of a four-man defence.

crouch cannot play a lone striker. even if he has the best first touch amongst the strikers, he doesn't have the speed. i would have prefered cisse to have started and use his speed and power against the physical defenders that they have.

i would also have preferred to put risse as LB instead of warnock and started with garcia on the right, kewell on the left and gerrard in the centre. a midfield central triangle of gerrard-alonso-sissoko will be able to win and keep the ball.

and the sending off is a real wake up for reina in the prem. you just cannot touch another player no matter where or however hard.

robben should be given an oscar award immediately. no need to wait for ceremony. quick someone call the academy board. :thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:

oh, does anyone know which hospital he is warded at?

damn chelski. i can't wait till we get them next season.

rafa: hand over your notes to barca so they can whip chelski's a$$.

i can't wait to meet Chelski again at another game.

i read the newpaper and this gary lim is a chelski fan for sure. :thumbsd:

starting gerrard on the right was a big mistake. i agree that luis garcia should start. warnock should be on the bench and riise on the left back. Crouch should haf maybe Cisse or MoriMori as strike partner.

Sissoko should be on the bench, kewell on the left with alonso and gerrard in the middle.

makelele is an excellent player. cripple him and chelski will fail to function. essien is simply a loose nut. anytime in the game he can get sent off. robben's behaviour and acting prowess should be honoured. well done, sonny! when are u coming home? :bsmilie:

i think the difference between chelski and us is that they did not make a single mistake.
they are a cautious team and they have champions luck.
we just need someone who is able to finish and a zonal defence that is able to concentrate for the whole 90minutes.
we are able to create chances even when our opponent is very defensive therefore what we need is someone who can finish the chances created.
really gek sim when you see crouch's header all went into the sky. i know his role in the team but i wish he can finish better.

What a waste of money on three worthless strikers?

It is absolutely atrocious for Liverpool to play a struggling Charlton team and come away two goals down. Again the strikers in Red are firing blanks. Crouch is starting to look like an expensive basketball player playing football. Morientes would have difficulties scoring in a brothel even if he had a season ticket. Cisse is a sprinter who has worn track shoes to play football. His first touch looks suspect. On current form, all the top 15 team's strikers are looking than all 3 of them. I loathed to be critical of the team but this is getting very tiring. We should have splurged on Dirk Kuyt or even Darren Bent during the transfer window.

I like to see things from the good side. In this game I thought Alonso came into his own. He seems to be able to take charge of the midfield when Gerrard is not on the field. He makes a lot of runs, covers the ground, gets in, makes tackles and wins the ball. Alas, after doing all that he seems unable to shoot the ball on target as a couple of his shots looked like they belong on a rugby field. But nonetheless, I thought he did reasonably well. Another player which I thought is starting to look very good is Kromkamp. When he came on, he was able to win headers in the mid-field and also bring the ball higher up the pitch. He looks like a more forward-intent right back than Finnan. I would suspect Finnan is difficult to displace at right back. That said, I figure Kromkamp is worth a shot in the right wing slot when Gerrard returns.

You think Newcastle and Spurs are so stupid to swap away their top strikers?
