I went peninsular yesterday to buy a tamron lens and they said the distributor will be up and running in a few weeks time and this time there will be new shipments coming in. Matter of 2 weeks or so he said.

I couldn't wait, so I got my Canon lens instead.. !

So, has someone gotten their lens to be serviced yet? Mine has some focusing problem at F2.8, so i guessed somewhere inside needs some tuning...

mine slightly front focus at f2.8
seems like it focus more finely after i removed my scratchy tokina uv filter

So it seems like it's not only MY problem or with my skills. Wonder how long will they take to rectify this. Some says it's due to 40D vibration...

I have written to them and was told it takes 3~4 weeks as the lens need to be sent back to Japan to be recalibrated. No local technician...

There has been some confusion. Somebody asked me if I got his lens which was sent to Tithes Marketing before they closed down.
Anybody knows where he can get his lens?

i sent my Tamron 180mm for calliberation.. it took them about 1 1/2 months to get it done... it took them awhile to get it done maybe due to the initial stage of taking over... no charges for shipping if under warranty...
service i must say its good... the guys are very professional...

Just a suggestion. If the agent has dropped dead like before, I believe that Camera workshop can service it for u. However, I am not sure of their charges though.
