Hi All,
Just to share a few of my picts, have added a "hood" (nikon UR-E8) onto the camera and am able to reduce the MFD to abt 10cm via the DCR 250, having fun with it, hope to post some decent shots soon.

Just to share pictures of how the modified "hood" would look like on the X1.
Am currently sourcing for a rubber gasket to fill up the gap between where the UR-E8 ends and the X1 body.

This allows the DCR-250 and an alternative lens cap to be attached.

Hi Jetstream, Raynox's DCR-250 is a macro filter that can be attached to the hood.

This costs ard $120 in Singapore.

The UR-E8 costs between $20-$25. It's available from e-bay.

Thanks for your kind words, but find the background blur (wouldnt dare call it bokeh), a bit overwhelming.

Thanks for the info..I find the blur effect to be ok for me though..To get the macro to 10cm is much better compared to the 30cm minimum required.
