Leica X1 owner's thread

I'm thinking about it also as fuji x100 is coming in next year and dont know how much for actual price. by the way leica is more than a camera haha
X1 is a great camera and no one knows how the fuji will perform. fuji doesn't have a good track record on compacts and you wonder if it will deliver the same IQ as X1.
X1 IQ is superb with very intelligent WB control. You must only consider AF in your purchase decision on whether you can live with it.
Besides, you can wait for fuji if your need is not urgent. By the time most of us can get our hands on a fuji maybe its Q2 next year liao - almost 3/4 of a year!!

Didn't Fuji make those fantastic compacts F10, F11, F30, etc.?
I agree fully with gazkw. The IQ from the X1 is excellent. I'd rather have the X1 now to capture special memories than hoping that the Fuji will address all the X1's shortcomings 6 months to 1 year from now...
Or get a Sony NEX while waiting.
Getting the Lecia X1 wouldn't go wrong. Already pre-order from a local shop for the Fujifilm X100. No matter how, still wouldn't sell the X1.
Also got the sony NEX 5 since day 1 and pesonally feel they are still far apart from the Lecia X1 in term of photo quality. It still depend on what you want.
Get or borrow a camera to try out and check the photo on the computer to see whether up to your liking or not. No joke, even the Sigma DP1 is better than the Nex 5 in term of photo quality.

Its known that the kit lens is soft , so why don't you get some leica glass for your NEX:devil::devil:
With LR3 (etc), the color is decided by the user, not the camera.
I have used both the X1 and NEX with M lenses. I preferred the latter. But then again, it's just me
I believe it's a 46mm diameter lens cap. You should be able to get a 3rd party one quite easily from Cathay.

edit: hey kelvin, didn't know it was you asking - how's things? the lens cap is not cheap original around 60 bucks probably.
dont think that place is big enough to invite so many people .... :dunno:Any X1 owners here got an invitation to the new Leica store? Not that I'm hard up for it but would be nice to get one...
