Aren't you contradicting yourself saying these?

How so?

They might think its more important to get the shot at that moment but doesn't mean they don't respect their subjects. And I am not them, I don't know what they think and those are just my assumptions...

Before this gets out of hand I wanna clarify that this is not a personal attack at anyone, I just wanna share a different perspective.

Ok here's why

"I believe he respects his subjects as well just that the method he use to achieve what he wants seems a little offensive."

He knows that it is offensive and does it anyway, so where's the respect?

" There are other people who are doing the same. If I'm not wrong Bruce Gilden is the first to do that and Charlie Kirk is doing the same thing in Japan, even some of us in CS are experimenting it."

Kirk attended a workshop by Gilden in Paris

" Pretty sure most if not all of them respect their subjects (not sure about Bruce Gilden tho), just that getting that shot comes before the respect..."

To have respect for someone you need to put the respect first before anything, not after

Street photography is about making photos, not statement

I have never taken it too seriously... I'm just assuming that they prolly have that respect in mind that you think they disregard while taking photographs...

To me, knowing that method is offensive and using it anyway doesn't mean they don't respect and Eric Kim always smiles and say thank you to the subjects... That is why I think he actually respects them.

Maybe for people like them who do photography for living, making statements is more important than making photos.

Like I said, it's ok if you don't like what they do or how they do. I didn't really like to approach the subjects this way either but there really is no need to say demeaning things about them... Pretty sure you wouldn't like people to say mean things about your pictures or the way you take your pictures...

Let's stop here and enjoy taking more pictures. :D

Moderator out of town i guess... :bsmilie:

Actually back on topic, the issue of the WB of the Leica M9 making the lights look blueish is not unusual. The Ricoh GXR has a habit of making a scene look "too perfect" and shifts the colors and the histogram is so bloody even it's hilarious. On one hand you get a very nicely exposed picture, on the other, you get a scene that's not reflective of the scene.

So really, adjust the settings until you are happy, or do it in post processing.
