Left my newly bought Olympus OMD on Jetstar flight on 30 Sept when arriving at Changi Airport from Siem Reap.:cry::cry: Jetstar & SATS told me they cannot find it....

I know the chances of recovering it is slim... but got any other suggestions?

Now I regret not buying travel insurance..... :(

Do you have the serial number or something...?

I'm not sure if this works, make a police report for the record, since you've probably already made a report with Jetstar and SATS.

Alert the camera stores here, as well as all the international Olympus Offices that this was a lost camera and you are the rightful owner (scan/photograph and attach Police Report and proof of purchase/warranty card number), and ask them if they could inform you if the camera goes into their servicing branch.

It's a long shot, but it might be better than none at all.

Possibilities - it was taken by:
other passengers on this flight or other passengers on next flight.
the cabin crew
the crew that came in to clean or resupply the aircraft

If they kept for it personal use and did not sell to 2nd hand store, the serial number will be of no use.
If they stole it, definitely they won't send to agent for repair because the serial number will reveal that it was stolen.

Travel insurance does not cover your own negligent loss of anything.

my sympathies. be careful in future .

i learn my lessons in life as quickly as possible . or else Universitie de Socidad will send me to repeat class, very painful repeat lesson. and these lesson must pass one , or will go for repeat classes until pass

Heh bro sorry to hear of this.... it's gone... sorry to say but it's prob either the cleaners 80% ( foreign contract workers is common ) or even the crew 20%... if you flew Silkair you'd prob be ok (maybe) cause the crew often sweep the cabin prior to the cleaners coming on.

Its a shame, yes you did the right thing by reporting it but in this case I'm betting its gone - just report it and also notify Olympus and give them a copy of police report.

Ask SATS again in a few days time then prob just leave it.... cause it aint coming back (not to sound harsh).

Good luck ok.

may some kind and honest soul find and return the camera to you,
and may the one who stole the camera be eaten up by his guilty conscience.
not much you can do but to pray.....and be more careful next time.

Sorry to hear the bad news. Sometimes it's easy to forget something after a tiring trip. I have seen a similar case lately.
Best is to put everything in one bag. The more bags/things you carry, the more chances of forgetting something.

This may help you find who's using the camera. (not so sure if it works with Olympus)

thanks for all your advises..... I will report to the police tomorrow. Luckily no private photos inside..... hehe....

I thinking most likely its taken by jetstar cleaners... Was told by SATS that normally the SATS police will accompany the cleaner while they clean the aircraft. But Jetstar they hire their own cleaner and are not accompanied by SATS police...

Sighz.... Gotta look for another OMD in the classified liao... h

Tough luck

Take it as a lesson. Be more careful next time

Sorry for yr loss of camera, on top of what you have done to recover it, perhaps you can look out any sale of similar OMD at eBay and other local auction sites or second hand stores. You may get lucky and hopefully find yrs from person who took yours n try to resell it ASAP via another person. It's a very long shot. After that you need to stop blaming yourself for losing it and get another camera to continue shooting.

Chances of retrieving is slim..Get over it and get a new cam!:)

may the thief burn in hell with the camera strap tight around the throat

otherwise get over it with a replacement camera
