seriously thinking about upgrading camera body later half of this year, after my experience from this volunteer shoot.

borrowed AF-S 28-70, 2.8 + my own D5000 + Nissin Di622 = Finger Pain

would be nice to have 51 point AF over 12 point as well.

Getting inspired to do poetry together with photography by my current module, Literature & the other arts

Taken from 62nd floor of Swissotel.

I admit the last shot could have more effort to get the horizon, the beach front & the bench to be straight in alignment... but it was pouring and I was under a very squeezy shelter.

But I did try to straighten this shot in the Camera RAW program. Not sure if it is entirely straight though.

hmm maybe it will be more impactful if can place the text on white beside the image instead of on the image. Poetry/Photography Do it!

hi i can visualize your suggestion about the white words.. sounds good :)

maybe i should start with haikus... haha can start a trend on APAD... daily photo+haiku

ya haiku sounds like a good start. some photos of nature seems haikuish and vice versa i say. Haiku is definately about imagery. But not all images are haikuish. Just curious, would u write the haiku first, then followed by the photgraphy; or take the shot first, then followed by the haiku.

in this case i would do photo first then haiku :)

Was in Pulai Springs Resort in Skudai doing a recce for a retreat... taken in the Chinese Restaurant when it was closed... the sprigs of orchid in natural light caught my attention so here's a casual shot

I'm back from the retreat. My favourite shot taken at the retreat: here's two friends who got recently attached, who were nice enough to pose for me... however lunch was starting soon so this was hastily taken... didn't have time to perfect it... would have taken a less tight shot given the opportunity.

in the process of selling off my gear to have some cash at hand... so i would potentially be gear-less... until further notice

maybe will be back with a d300, 17-55, sb800... someday... LOL

rather than let this thread die, i shall now start with a series of photos that got me started on photography

This was back in 2006 when I had just ORD and my family went on a trip to New Zealand, and just for that, bought a Panasonic Lumix Compact DMC-FX01 (ancient days when it was 5 mp and the maximum ISO is 400... only now then I understand why there was always handshake in all the night shots with this camera)

Looking forward to acquisition of new and better gear around start of September :)

another photo from my first set when I got my first compact traveling australia/new zealand... guess where is this taken?

i've yet to travel out of singapore with a DSLR yet (especially now that I'm DSLR-less)... end July headed to Phuket... shall try to challenge myself to take nice shots with my ancient 5mp compact

sort of excited ...countdown to early september when I can consider my purchase of body+lens

HUAT AH!
