Frankly, I picked up my A1 from them. I feel I can only deal with them with equotes. Those folks tried to chop me rocket prices for all accessories after I bought the A1 with the equote. Luckliy I already checked out the market prices for some of the stuff b4 I went there. Can you image a normal UV filter they try to sell me at $15 and the NP-400 extra battery at $130. ;( I came to a conclusion that I can only buy from MS with an equote. No offence to MS loyalist though.....! :D

I have since switch back to buy from CP now. Though their camera prices are not fantastic, I believe they quote a near fair price on their accessories. They quoted a UV filter at $8 over the counter. At least I don't feel like a "vegetable head" waiting to be chopped. Now I'm just waiting for their Lowepro backpacks to come in..... :bsmilie:

Got to say this before I leave Singapore for a tour, I'm pretty impressed by MS Color (Ang Mo Kio)'s customer service.

I bought my A70 during the first week it is released in Singapore in April and after the 1st few days, I realised that there's a dead pixel in the LCD of the A70. Also some dust appeared on the inside of the LCD glass after a week or two.

I have exams in NTU for the month of April and early May and I stay in hostel practically for that entire exam period, unable to go down to Ang Mo Kio again for the change (travelling time will take around 4 hrs to and fro), I did not go down to MSColor for exchange or called them up.

A month later after my exams, I went down to MS Color for help, explaining my situation. The staff there are very friendly and readily tried to help me. This is real customer service because they have already got my money for the a70 and could have easily turn me away saying it has already been a month, too late for them to do anything. But they didn't. :)

They asked me to try calling canon direct whether canon can do anything to help, but the canon enginer after consulting with his manager said that dead pixels as long as it is less than 0.01% is within specs. That means upto 0.01% x 78000(A70 LCD) = 7~8 deadpixels on your brand new LCD is acceptable! ;(

Anyway, I went back to MS Color and they agreed to help as a dealer by sending my a70 in to canon for a underwriting, but after 2 weeks canon has not got back to them regarding the camera. I told the staffs that I'm going on a trip today and I need my camera on the trip. The boss (Mr Low I think) decided to take one of their own new stock to replace mine. Now that's customer centric service and I'm happy with my new flawless a70 :D

A big thanks to all the friendly staffs there for their help, eps Mr Low, Florence and a young man (didn't ask for his name).

BTW, I'm not working for MS Color or anything, it's just one satisfied customer wanting to show his appreciation for good service rendered. :D

I have also some experience to share about the 'GOOD SERVICES" that MS Color rendered to its customer..i have bought my tripod at MS Color 2 weeks ago and was broken after a week and return the unit the following day, according to them they will try to talk to the supplier whether they can get a replacement for my broken tripod and have to wait till after christmas..although i dont know if i can get the replacement Im still happy because (Florence Goh , one the nicest staff there :) ) informed me that while im waiting for the replacement ..they can lend me one for my shooting. BTW im one the regular customer and its worth to patronise a reliable store like MS Color. cheers!!

$15 for UV filters?
Even John 3:16 sell at $10...and their things suppose to be slightly more expensive :o
But then, I bought my EOS 300 from John 3:16 and not MS colours. Because the quote was much much higher.
I normally dun go to CP cos the pple there look at me one kind, especially when I am a gal and I go alone. (And I am not their regulars)
Sometimes I dun mind buying at John 3:16 if it is more expensive...at least I dun feel like a freak when I go in.

Yes, there are indeed the good and bad sides of al shops in Singapore. If we do a search in CS, we'll get mixed views about shops like MS Color, CP, AP, TCW, etc.

If you are a regular and served by the boss himself/herself, of cos things are different. But as a newbie or "inconsistent" customer and you approach the unpopular staff there, good luck.

Well said. I personally think that some shops try to give very good prices on the main items or/and good customer service to entice the consumers to buy, but given the chance most of them will then try to make a lot more money out of other things. I personally think e-quotes have become a very powerful marketing tools to get customers to go down to their shop, by quoting extremely low prices.

HmMm...my experience with MS color also very good....bought a canon a 60 from them in june for my holiday and towards the end of the holiday it suddenly cannot switch on...as the hols was for like 16 days overseas i gave them a call since its like u can exchange within 14 days......so when i came back they did a one to one exchange with me so was very happy with their service and attitude.

But on another note altogether.......how come like their equipment got so many [problems one???here always hear ppl gg to exchange things when they buy from MS.
