? might be good if you clarify.... especially when you do not have much of a standing here and could be construed to be a competitor.

well, just a word of caution for everyone to look carefully before buying....i went to buy cokin stuffs there, twice....yes twice i was given old and dusty stuffs....naturally I din buy the second time after the first cos I was new to it....

Actually I think it's misleading for you to call that "old" as it could mean "used". I know what you're trying to say. But they are definitely not out to cheat. It's just that their filters are not kept properly? Or the stocks seem to be there for a long time.. I know cos I was trying to get filters there too and I was given this really old box and the filter looks a bit foggy.

But as far as the popular cams are concerned, you can be assured they are fresh from the oven.

Well...I do know they sell more Canon and Olympus stuff...that might explain why stocks for some accessories are not as new....:)

PS: Me no relation to them...

oh ;p thought you meant they sell 2nd hand stuff at first hand prices which will be a crime! anyway, you could actually request for "cleaner" ones if you don't like the condition of the ones you're given.

Haha! that's call NOS ( New Old Stock), meaning old stock that has been kept for some times, but never been used before. Dusty wise, expected but nothing a cleaning won't do. But, "old", defined differently by everyone. Juz bought an "old" EF zoom lens from Alan photo, box is already yellowish, but is unused anyway. Now is that "old" stock, or is that item"new" ?

Juz my 2 cents' worth.

Kudos to MS colour, have been buying from them for past 10 years.....

pity the location of MS Color is no good.

did mentioned to them abt the rustiness and worn out look on the stuffs...the guy just bring out a cloth and wipe it anyhw....naturally i wun buy it....

popular stuffs naturally sell well....but do take extra precaution when gng for the stuffs there when kept for a long time....judging by the packaging...

i do recommend MS however....proximity is nt a problem since mrt is juz opposite....

Actually I like to look out for these "old and dusty" stuff, as they are usually cheaper and can bargain for a low price. As long as it works....Light scratches and worn boxes doesn't concerned me as they will be the same condition after some uses anyway. Haha... a bit cheapo!:D

guess most ppl wun mind if its considerable cheaper in price....but would u mind paying new price for old stuffs?

I get my stuff from them - minitreker aw, filters and etc. Just ask, they'll order in. Collect tomorrow.

Best customer service, plus, it's at North. More convenient.

Of course if the item is available new and is unchanged, definitely will go for the new one. If not, sometimes people will look for certain older models of lens or accesories, especially if their used price is very close to the new price of the same items collecting dust on some dealer's shelf....

Was there during lunch....told him abt this thread....he was grateful and was stating that its all our support.....:)

it is precisely their location, which enable them to give us prices taht are otherwise not possible, because a town address will jack rental up.

the moment overheads go up, there will be an increase in selling price. So MS Color, please stay where you are, keep costs down, and we will come to you.:)

A town address is all about consumers paying for their rental, does not benefit us..

I dont think they are really that friendly......

Went there not long ago to test the A70. But the feeling i got then was that testers were not really welcomed. In the end went to cathay photo instead to get my A70.

I personally feel that only when you show them that you are there to buy something from them only then would their friendliness surface. Or maybe i am the only one to feel this way??

But then again i must say that their prices are one of the most competitive in singapore.

unnamed79,
I don't really agree with you here. I went to MS Color way before I joined this forum. Sometimes I just inquired about prices of things I would like to buy. Once, I asked to try the Canon IS lens stating that I purely wanted to have a look and won't buy for at least a couple of months. Florence willingly obliged. For newbies, they even give you brochures of products such as filters and tripods as a reference instead of smoking you to buy the most expensive item available. For new customers, I did receive the "cold" treatment when I was there. But tt will never happen when Mr Loh and Florence are there. Once I wanted to buy a container to store my filter. Florence actually offered to give me those disposed covers for free when available and was willing to call me personally to collect them. That is the best sales service I have ever seen. I bought my camera and lens costing almost $2k and they did not even ask for a deposit first. For best price, always ask for a e-quote before u go down. Willie and the other assistant usually give u a smaller discount, while the bosses will give u a bigger discount without hesitation. Price-wise, they can be cheaper than CP by as much as a couple of hundred dollars.

Looks like any future shopping for camera plus accessories will MS color for me.

I have been buying stuff from them for almost 7 years.... bought a few digi cam for my self and my friends and my cousin

nikon 2100 / nikon 3100

Fuji Sxxx? / Canon A80 / and soon! Canon MV 6i digicam.....

they have never dissapoint so far. :)

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hv been there quite a number of time and price is reasonable.
Bought most of my accessories from MS.
Good service and they also give valuable advise to newbies (which i think is very helpful when deciding a cam).
