[kuantoh] Victoria Road Trip 2010

#77 - Tried another angle to capture the sunset into the glass panels on the left. The coating on the glass acts as a polarizer and enhances the colors in the skies.

#78 - For those wanting the extreme experience, walk out to the Edge. This protruding container where all surrounding are glass, is an experience for those who are keen. There are mechanisms to eject this structure out every 15mins for the ultimate experience. This structure is not operational in high winds for safety reasons we can see why.

#79 - Night falls and the whole area erupts with lights from streets, bridges, buildings etc.

#80 - After a unique experience at Eureka Skydeck 88, it is back to Southbank Promenade with Southgate Footbridge to the Flinders Street Station and finally the CBD on the right background.

Never read about Eureka Skydeck the last I went to Melbourne

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Your pictures are amazing!! It's got good composition, clean look and good color contrast. Just wondering did you do any post-processing to the pictures?

Thanks. It was a sight to see indeed. Quote Wiki source: "Eureka Tower is a 297.3-metre (975 ft) skyscraper located in the Southbank precinct of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Construction began in August 2002 and the exterior completed on 1 June 2006. The plaza was finished in June 2006 and the building was officially opened on 11 October 2006."

So if u went before Oct 2006, it is still in construction. If u went after tat, most probably, it is not tat famous yet. lol...

Thanks! I rotate between my Nikon D700 with CPL on lens and Canon G11 for shots for some streets. All shots are minimally adjusted, no hard pushing of contrast etc. :)

Hi jean. It was shot through glass. I had a hard time composing to minimize the reflections especially with the indoor blue lightings all over the place. Haha... Need to stick the lens onto the glass and tilt here and there. :bsmilie:

#81 - Woke up to a nice clear morning on route to Queen Victoria Market. This angle was just near Federation Square just at the intersection of the train railway tracks and the roads.

#82 - A busy day at Queen Victoria Market. It's amazing how clean the market is compared to SG. Hygienic and just feels like a shopping centre instead.

#83 - A panorama stitch of 7 shots taken with G11 at Docklands in the mid afternoon.

#84 - A lamppost abstract against the Melbourne Arts Center pointed structure.

#85 - The Shrine of Remembrance is Victoria’s largest and most visited war memorial and is probably Melbourne’s most recognised landmark.

#86 - This is the final shot I took before the next day flight back SG. Took this while sneaking out for a sunset shoot but end up caught with storm clouds coming in fast. Just one shot from Flinders Street Station road junction from the entire evening walkabout alone but was pretty satisfied with this outcome.

This is beautiful...love the light trail...

#23 - A closer view from the viewing deck of Hopetoun Falls. It's a pleasure to see how the giant ferns complement the falls so well.

That's a beautiful pic KT.
Do you remember exposure time and time of day?

Woah! What filter did you use to get 128sec at noon?!

The foreground ferns were amazing still, for 2 min!!

Hi esther, attached ND110 to get that length of time. Actually the ferns at the centre left are moving if u noticed closely... lol..
