30-09-11: Silhouette shots had always been one of my favorites and the next few shots somehow bring about the moods above the alps at Rigi Kulm. This shot depicts the crowd just before sunset timing and before the last train ride down from Rigi Kulm. There is still a bit of crowd around the area enjoying the scenery.

30-09-11: As the time passed, the crowd started to get lesser.

30-09-11: This couple were the last to leave this area. While one was taking pictures around, the other was sitting on the bench thinking will they be missing the train. :)

30-09-11: While wifey chose to rest for a while in the room, I took a walk around Rigi Kulm while looking out for places for sunset. It's really too beautiful everywhere and you will wonder how to go about taking pics in one location. I only had a night here but how I wished I had 3 or more. This shot was taken after a short chat with this hiker who lives just in Luzern making a day trip here. She's going to walk all the way down after sunset. Really admire the locals there.

30-09-11: A shot of the clouds fast settling in. The sunset was creating some nice light on the surroundings, making everything vibrant and warm.

30-09-11:Spotted this couple sitting on the bench waiting for sunset. It's really amazing to be here. You have to be here to believe it. See it, breathe the air, enjoy the peace.

30-09-11:Sun fast setting. A panorama created from 7 shots on the sunset behind the alps.

30-09-11: The chapel on Rigi Kulm. I happened to see the wonderful light upon this chapel and creating that soft light on the surrounding grass patches. Stepped on lots of ibex dung down slope to find this great angle for the chapel with the alps in the background and made full use of the short window period just for one shot.

30-09-11: The golden sunset was one of the most vibrant I have seen. This shot was straight out from camera without any color tone adjustment.

30-09-11: The train tracks were void of traffic by the time the sun was slowly setting. The colors cast onto the tracks and surroundings were simply magnificent.

30-09-11:Just as I thought there were no more train services, two trains came right up. I decided to hold my position and take a shot of the trains approaching with the sunset in the background.

30-09-11: The sun was setting so slowly that I really had time to walk a bit more to get more shots. This is a landscape presentation of the railway with the boarding area with the chapel in the sunset. Very very warm tones straight out from camera without editing.

30-09-11: A portrait presentation of the railway with the chapel in sunset. I really love the way the light created nice depths in the railway for these couple of shots and also how the vegetation were softened by the soft warm light.

30-09-11: As we checked in our beloved hotel room at Rigi Kulm Hotel. I opened the window and was amazed by some really beautiful sceneries. While wifey was washing up, I took out my 28-300 and got right to work with several shots at 300mm. Post processed for colors in PS. This was a shot of the hot air balloon against the backdrop of the alps.

amazing shot !!! from yur hotel room ????????
