I would like to give KT a try.

downloaded the fuji frontier profile from http://www.popphoto.com/article.asp?section_id=2&article_id=480&page_number=1
read http://drycreekphoto.com/Frontier/using_printer_profiles.htm

D70 (SRGB III) -> editting in Nikon capture (SRGB III) and converting from raw to .jpg -> proof-setup in adobe using the profile -> re-adjusted curves and levels -> assign fuji icc profile to photo.

after proof-setup with the "paper white" box ticked, photos are a bit dull-looking. re-adjusted curves and levels.

1) Is there anything wrong with the workflow?
2) Does the downloaded profile closely matches the profile at KT?

KT is a bit far from my place, will be busy this few weeks.. i would like to get things right on my side so that there'll be less headaches and trouble :)
I assuem that your monitor is profiled ?. Without it any softproofing has little use ...
Secondly Printer profiles are very specific to a lab as well as type of paper used. One cant use a generic profile for every Frontier Lab.
You should ask the lab to provide you their own Printer Profile and then do the softproofing.

All Lab Printers (Frontier/Agfa/Noristu) do not read embedded profiles. Therefor after final corrections, you should use Image->Mode->convert to prifle (printer profile) and then save your image as jpeg. Now it is ready to be sent to the lab.

thanks for the clarification. :)

i used adobe gamma to calibrate my monitor

hi cs,
we have subscribe to Dry Creek Photo for a colour profile base on our new frontier machine 570. you can download the profile frm Dry Creek Photo

http://www.drycreekphoto.com/Frontier/Profiles/Singapore_frontier_profiles.

pls read the instruction given by them on how to install the profile.

It is important to do a few test print to ensure proper calibration. minor adjustment might require by comparing the printout and display on monitor.

Thanks
:)

Work fine with the old profile too.

Wah, so many great comment for KT Digital. Well, just send the photo for develop today, let's see how's the picture turn out to be. Almost give up searching for it, but then, it's actually opp the block. Near to the right end of it. Will it be possible for the owner to take down a shot of their shop? So when people go, they know exactly where is it located at.

Woah, good quality!! Never regret. Anyway, who is that lady over there? Between 18 - 22. ;p

ahem. professional assistants. ;)
I would address her as a professional instead. She (Michelle) is no assistant...:)

Ask you all something....

If I were to take the ICC profile of KT vs using a monitor caliberator like Gregtag Macbeth's Eye One, would there be a significant difference in the quality of colours in the prints?

What I see on my display is exactly what KT delivers. I'm using Bak Jiu 1 and I send the prints as is, no adjustments.

KT prints in Lustre Paper as well? I prefer glossy...

KT prints in both Matte (Lustre) and Glossy. Just last month alone I sent 2 batches of Matte for prints.

Will be sending another batch soon. :)

Monitor profiles, editing profiles(color workspace) and printing profiles are three different things.

hmm.... so basically juz load the kim tian's colour profile first....

then calibrate accordingly to tt profile ... am i right to say tt?

cheers..
