Unflattering: you made her look worse. angle or lens distortion, I let you figure it out.Yo bro AhV, thanks for commenting. I am not saying what TMC said is wrong. Before I agree to what he said, I would like to see where he is coming from, as well as yours because I don't really know what the word "unflattering" means. I am thinking if he meant the wide angle that I used or the presentation of the face from individual viewpoints. I am not arguing here but just wanna see where I made that little fault so that I know what I need to avoid next time lah. No fight, no fight.
When I receive the word "unflattering", I will wonder what is not right? Is it the make up? Is it the face itself? Is it the inclined degree shooting plane that I used or is it the distortion caused by wide angle lens? I need to know this mah.
And when you said my friends' features were "badly distorted" in Pic 13 (That picture whereby Phim kissed Kratae's ear right?), can I know where har? I cannot see it leh.
To TMC:
Not trying to induce any fight with you. Just wanna know where you are coming from so I can see it and try to avoid.
Rested for a little while before attempting another shoot. This time shooting 2 girls at one time. Never tried shooting group shots before. Virgin shots for this series. I welcome constructive comments on how to improve on the photography, from viewers.![]()
On the contrary, I like the way the images look... the colour, the burnt highlights, the "overprocessing"... it gives this series a kind of stylised look. Zeckson,
Check your PM.
A series with a lot of pictures. Thank you very much for your effort to share with us. The first impression is that these photos are heavily PSed. Could not see much details on the face, perhaps their make up and skin are very good.
Well, in terms of expressions, I like #12 the most. Nice expression with natural smile. I do not know how to appreciate #11, #13, #14 and #15 yet. In #11 and #15 their arms are too big, do not look pleasant to me.
Technically, I am sure you know pretty well about exposure and eye contact, your pictures are very well focused, really! I find it very difficult to shoot many people also, maybe it is good to experiment with some action shots like dancing, or shoot with a theme to blend the 2 subjects together well?
Hope to see more experiments from you.
Unflattering: you made her look worse. angle or lens distortion, I let you figure it out.
The whole series the 2 of them have pretty much the same expression, just looking in different directions. the pics are pped until there are barely details left. I didnt realize they have a nose bridge on their faces on their faces until I saw the last few frames. credits on experimentation but then this pp method you tried it before and it apparently doesnt work here. YMMV.
Your positive attitude is the main draw attracting constructive comments. While i seldom comment much about portraitures here, I do somehow feel oblidged to share a few points as well and hope you won't mind.
I find some of the initial pictures with a heavy green hue, while the last few shots are rather pinky. Perhaps when adjusting cmyk ratio, you may want to be more careful adjusting the %. From my personal take: the trick in seeing colors is not just knowing the machine (ie software, printer) or the medium (ie paper, ink, calibrated screen..). The trick is to train my eyes to see the images with light in perspective. There is no real formula, but I learned that it is usually all within sight.
With all the tilting, overexposure and contrasty images you have here, it's good to know you are having fun with photoshop and stretching the limits beyond the norm. Are you then fine tuning your skills to suit the masses (eg by gathering opinions in CS?) If yes, you might be subconsciously preparing yourself to go commercial. If no, you are an artist in near isolation.
Press on, my friend, to reach yor desired goal.
contaxable
 Pic 12 is my favorite.More vibrant colors and a better background may improve the pics. Just my feel towards the pics.

Just my two cents worth.
In portraiture, it would make good sense to have the eyes very clear and sharp. In some of your photos the eyes are somewhat blur. This actually makes the photo less impact. In the group shots care must be taken to make sure that the eyes of both models are clear and sharp so sometimes it involves very unnatural bending of the neck of one model so that the faces of both are in the same plane to achieve clear faces and eyes for both.
Overall, I found most of the pics are overexpose for my taste. But if u prefer this kind of PP, then it will not be a problem. Pic #12 is the best from this series
