thanks pop, ParkertR and erthling!

actually, it's not really a bulb. It's a table lamp from ikea that's got these holes on top of the cover. Because this lamp is flexible (as in adjustable), i placed it very low and shot it against a white piece of paper to get the backlight effect.

i then used an orange to black gradient map in PS to get the orange tone and used the multiply blending mode in a layer to create more contrast.

beautiful as a poem... esp with the tail end of the cloud just merely touching it.. like the sun is shedding its cover to reveal its beauty... what a sunset..

how i wish i can capture like you did.. still never get a good sunset!

btw, your lightbulb pix has that effect .. bright dots on black.. when ur eyes move away from it, you can see the black images of those dots..

wow, this is really so beautiful. with such a good view from your house, no wonder you can recover so fast, it is so therapeutic. hey, the cloud there is a reminder to us that this world is not perfect, but there is still beauty in imperfection.

I second Pop. Often when I take a photo and something is not perfect in my silly little human mind and I wish I can use my hand to rearrange it. But I more often than not remind myself that nature's beauty is there, it's how I view it from my lens and from there how it translates into a photo. hmm... i'm sure the shifus have more to say.
