Here's my newbie take :) Yeah thanx to Drudkh for organising and ZCF for sponsoring the passes. Still got a lot to learn from you guys and look forward to the next outing if anyone is organising again!

#1 In line with the theme Sulhan suggested... here one on "Love"
cs22.jpg

.....
Haa...

These are great Stuff Rong Ren....

The Love theme.......You are the Winner!!!!!! to my opinion....
While you guys are shooting....i was in KFC feeding my lil girl...:bsmilie: :bsmilie:
and took shelter for 30mins under the bamboo trees to watch the chimp...

Most of those who poast...have nice pics...however, looks like quite a few could have been sharper with
use of support like tripod or monopod.....

rgds,
Sulhan

was already quite disappointed with my pix. and now after seeing everyone's great pictures, i feel even sadder. at first didn't feel like posting any pictures at all, but should be sporting lah.

my favourite animal. but soft :(

lion: hee hee hee, here i come!
lioness: darling today i headache...
---

it was a very fruitful trip though, and appreciate don's hard work organizing it. really glad for all the advice i got from all the more experienced shooters.

the pix themselves also taught me a lesson. open up and everything soft, means must go work on handholding technique, or find a big rock to put camera on. or learn from the guru and boost the iso. noisy better than blurrrr...

and last but not least, a great chance to try out different lenses, and get in touch with minolta technolo-G:

really really sharp and detailed... show bigger leh...

A lot of great shots  ! Looks like a fun outing even if weather didn't cooperate.

Can you shooters care to list the lens/TCs/etc. that you used at the zoo?

Thanx for the kind words Ecclesiasm and Sulhan. :) still a newbie with lotsa passion and lotsa more to learn... sadly school starts for me today .. hope still got time to shoot ;)

Sulhan...thanx for being such a great teacher ! benefitted lotsa from your course.

haha.. "love theme" .. that shot was quite a superficial intepretation of the theme.. but nonetheless had the picture in mind when i saw the flamingos and finished it off with some patience, luck and multi-burst.. head position still a bit off imo....haha..oh!...been a long time since i last went to the zoo.. was quite intrigued by the baboons' promiscuity though..

It was a fun outing.. thanks to Don for organising this trip!
Comments on pictures will be MUCH APPRECIATED. =D

Nice photos from everyone who posted. It may or may not be a fruitful trip to each of you but this outing is defintely a successful one. The group is a little big and hard to communicate with everyone. It doesn't matter if we split up as everyone has their interest and style of shooting. some may want to be with a few guys to learn something or prefer to shoot alone. its all up to individual and doesn't need to stick to a big group.

I hope all of you enjoyed the outing although the weather is not in our favour but it is a challenge to produce the non-sunny photo especially when there's insufficient light to shoot.

Our usual KMOS gathering will resume in March as I'll skip the one in Feb due to CNY. After which, I will try to plan for another photoshoot outing in April or probably in March as well.

Don,
Thanks for organizing the event.
Nice meeting "the real person" rather than just thru this forum.

Not really.. for this outing, 1st time with DSLR for Zoo shooting, I decided to zoom in rather than capturing the full frame of the animal..
saw some shots in other forum.. focus on just the animal's eyes.. nice... but not on my shots :(

I think DON got a better pic of it??
