A&W Dunearn Road? Remember that one?

I remember that KFC Kallang was the first chicken joint in Singapore...or maybe I was too young to know anything

And there was A&W opposite...and I do not believe there were macdonalds then

I cant verify that too...But I am pretty sure it was most popular outlet. Particularly, we head to this outlet after movie at Hollywood cinema.

No clue from me, A&W's chicken wasnt my call, only root beer float. Well, I do fancy their curly fries.

actually the one i remember most was the one at lakeview (not to be mistaken to lakeside mrt) its around thomson area... now that place totally disappear... iirc, that A&W outlet changed to something else, then a hawker centre now.

orange julius at cathay cinema rings a bell? Drinking the orange juice was like a must have.:thumbsup:

A&W was the undoubted king of fastfood. There is something about its rootbeer which no fastfood of today can ever come close. Served with a cold beer mug, vanilla cream flavour in the root beer.

Anyone remember the time when there were waiters to take your orders at KFC? The one near Gold Hill Plazar (Thomson Road)?

How about the A&W that was near to the old IE, between Bukit Timah and Dunean Road?

I hate to say this, that is probably one of the most missed fast food....always pack. wonder how they committed suicide when they used to be that great.

Ya man.... I recall how they would freeze all the mugs which you can see over the counter and when you order you see them pour the Root Beer in....yummmmmm.... I think I spent the most time in an A&W outlet (at Kallang) then all the others fast food back then.

Haha. Yes. A&W Dunearn Road, near the Novotel Orchid Inn? And all the plant nurseries along the big longkang. I used to study at Swiss Cottage @ Dunearn Road, so that whole stretch holds a lot of memories for me. Heavy rain + high tide = sure flood one!

My earliest memory of KFC would be at Bedok, near where Oriental Emporium (another blast from the past) used to be.

Cant to it, remember they always place it on the tray while the sizzle is still overflowing from the dispenser. In the olden days, KFC place their dispenser behind the cashier instead of front.

I REMEMBER! My dad used to bring me every sunday and I will order SUNRISE (aka half waffles with scrambled eggs and hotdogs) :cry:

Hey just in case you dunno. there's a semi -similar taste waffles still in SG
the resturant is called WAFFLES TOWN @ Balmoral Plaza, Bukit Timah. very
near to ACS (Barker). Should try their Waffles.
