yah agree with you, got the same feel too, S$2.2K is really a no go, so far Malaysia pricing is most ideal!

They first batch will sell like hot cakes anyway no matter how much they are asking for, they have no reason to worry and they can still lower the price next year.

Feedback like these are good for the business. Take the negative and put into the positive. Pentax comes to the cross road again, is all depend on the pricing and performance of the new cam. the question is either old customer will stay and new customer come and join or old customer gone and new customer won't even want to waste their time and money.

Same. It's basically a K5 camera w/ improved AF module and minus the AA filter. Everything else is the same.

It will sell like hotcakes alright... just not very much locally. Like they proverb goes "a fool and his money are soon parted", and only a stupid fool with more money than brains will pay S$2.2K for the K-5 IIs locally when with just a couple of mouse clicks one can get the camera delivered to one's doorstep without any rebate nonsense. Seriously, it sounds like the local distributor is frankly clueless on how to win over the local Pentax user base with an advertised price that is a lot higher than what other places are offering. Perhaps a mass order from our northern neighbours can be arranged. A Pentax user/buying outing to KL would be terrific... great food, great shopping and great photo opportunities and all at great prices. For the win!

Hi guys,sorry to post unrelated stuff but better than opening new thread..i dropped my original pentax battery for k5 and it is not charging now..the green light on charger will off after ard 20 mins or so..Once dropped,this mean the battery cells spoiled right?abit sian as it is the original battery

Try to leave it in charger for 1.5 hours and test again. I have dropped mine before but still works
