K5IIs Review and K5IIs vs K5 @ PentaxForums

My Jap friend just checked.
Major Japanese stores are selling $1450.
Warranty needs to be changed to an international one by sending to Pentax (Jp).

Its not $13xx as optimistically thought.
But still ~$300 delta.

I guess everyone has to weigh the pros and cons themselves on this one.

How's the experience when u had to send stuff in for servicing? Esp stuff that dont have local warranty? Need any specific docs?

Fortunately I never had to claim the warranty so far. Well, only one time for a 35mm camera in the 80's back in Germany and the experience with Pentax was pretty bad.

I bought a lens early this year thru Amazon ( though sold by someone ). I then apply for a Int'l warranty and got it in mail in a week or 2. Painless and a joy knowing you saves money.

I always go to Osaka (close to 10times per year) and all my (few hundreds to thousands of ) company staffs bought from this shop.
