U have.... It's called 645D... -_-"..

That is something sensitive to you but senseless for me... I can't put my FA* and limited on it and live with no regrets!.

I think we will know soon enough once FW comes up with the review.
Personally, I think there is little chance it will screw up.
Prime M and 16mp sensor are all proven stuff.
Pentax cameras whether low or high end have always been good, well and properly featured.

Beside the additional battery life, I found that the camera weight is more balanced. I have handled my friend's 60D with a battery grip. Although its heavier, I can hold it longer than my Kr without feeling the strain. Maybe I got weak hand, thus more sensitive to this.

I think its a matter of preference. And i find it odd that weak hands are helped by adding half a kilo more to the load u have to carry :dunno:

Additional batt life, imo, not that relevant.
A couple of spares are lighter than a grip+built in batt.
Unless your shooting requires non-stop shooting with no chance of pause for battery changing. (happened to me only once shooting boxing)

Can't help on the 'feel' part of things though. (thats personal)
For me, I cross sling my camera and avoid hand holding if not necessary.

Any reason why Kr and now K30 do not allow mounting of grip? Adding contact point increase the camera cost significantly?

Just stating my observation, as to your question I'm not Ricoh-pentax nor am I involve in these camera development so dun know what the cost woul be but my guess is that it has to be something to do with the camera category i.e. entry and mid level

Hmmm.... looks like a bigger dry cabinet is needed :-)

product differentiation is probably the reason. Besides the whole point of their entry level cameras (k-x/K-r/k-30) have always been small & compact. No point mounting on a battery grip for that.

I don't know if everybody would buy a 300 dollar weathersealed batt grip on their k-m, k-x, k-r or k-30... even in my k-5, i'm hesitant to purchase one for me... I think, Pentax knew it all along since additional batt grip would also add up designing, R&D and production considering market is not really there.

Cheers, be happy and contented since Pentax have provided an awesome camera like this on their line up, you cannot find anything like this on any camera brands...

It's almost a K-5 in terms of features.

And that new DA50.

It's a good time to be a Pentaxian! (Of course, even better if you buy into the system back when the lenses were so much more affordable. I remember getting the FA50 2nd-hand at less than $300 back then. The 2nd-hand prices now...)
