If Audi S5 is 6 speed manual & the GT-R is auto... i think thread starter go for auto better... I have no intention of saying thread starter cannot drives well but auto very much easier in everyday situation.

s5 is tiptronic.
they had brought in manual before but couldnt sell well.

i love manual cars.especially doing heel/toe.

but i dont mind paddle shifts too because that's what i have been driving with for the past 2 years.

in any case, most of the time, it's on auto mode for daily commuting, save for the occasional overtaking and rush to adrenaline.

I know hp is like $.no one will complain if it's too high.
but can the average driver handle 480 horses?not to mention 600hp?
this question beats me all the time.

Is thread starter a lady? So clever, know so much abt cars... i have met few ladies that knows abt cars ;p ...

In fact, all the GT-R that leaves the factory has abt 500bhp at the wheels when subjected to dyno testing, the claim of 483bhp by Nissan japan is a modest figure.

The ATTESA 4WD system can handle a lot a lot of power...

yes my dear friend.
i'm a lady, and like you, i'm a car enthusiast other than photography.
i've owned a few performance cars.
now looking at gtr vs s5.

my hunch is s5 for daily commuting.more practical.

but gtr for raw naked acceleration.
i'm so in love with it..

Then the Audi S5 then... are you particular abt the wheels also... like i said i like Audi with 'BBS Challenge' wheels, check it out in a size for the S5. Does S5 wears 18" or 19" wheels?

Yah, the GT-R 0-100km/h in 3.5sec without any wheel spin at all is amazing to witness.

i usually wont be really bothered about factory fitted aesthetics.hence, i dont mod.
googled the bbs challenge, not too bad looking.
audi is 19 inch, dunlop, non run flat like the gtr.

i know the gtr tyres is BS 070 RF.and each tyre is about 1.2k, and on indent basis.but i doubt gtr owners will use back this same tyre.prob will change to something else, since it's so hard to get.

just look at the s5 seats....moreover lumbar support is adjustable.
GTR's cant.

Is this the seat they once fitted to the Audi RS4?

There are very ugly GT-R in Spore tat you'll feel like throwing rotten eggs onto it when you see it...

Full body decal & dunno wat 22" wheels. Yucks.

no,
rs4 seats are diff.

I only know RS4 standard they gives a seat that looks a bit like this yet offered optional seats that the shoulder there the sides very big... very racing...

IIRC, it looks a tad diff.
couldnt really recall.
my brother had one.but had sold it since.

wait till you hear the v8 roar.
though it's restricted by the catalytic convertors..
when i whacked the S5, the v8 roar was still very distinctive.
love it.

And you say S5 is subtle. No V8 is *ever* when you wake the beast. haha.

S5 is a cult classic in the making. As much as GTR is doing in 911 territory, S5 is doing the same for grand touring coupes in its class. There is a market to be tapped below the RS/M-series range which some may find a little too hard core.

I would say S5. Power on tap + more driveable on daily basis. Quite a few GTRs have been wrecked so far. Presume its S-tronic, not Multi-tronic or manual.

anyway, RS6 comes in sedan and not just Avant.

finally, somebody who thinks like me. I would think the ageing factor will be much better on a pedigree like Audi, as compared to the Nissan. not sure about Singapore, but over here in Australia, that's the case with most RS/S models.

I have personally never sat/driven in a GT-R, but having driven a S5 for an extended period of time, I can tell you. swoon. I'd actually choose the S5 over Ana Ivanovic, if I had to choose. seriously. I would.

i thoguht we're not allowed to use IMG tags for photos that are not ours? or has that restriction been lifted?

anyway, audi for me. 2 seater car is no-go for me (unless i reach the age of 60+ where only me and my significant other will be in the car)

120km/h?

sigh...IF you drive in singapore, you'll realised you can easily reach that speed on expressway other than peak hours.

anyway guys, please stick back to topic.
thanks so much.
I would say that i'm 19 and have drove about....XXX km/hr before. :bsmilie:

When we buy a car, we need to ask ourselves what do we want in that car.

Style? Purpose? Or both?

We have to see if we can handle such a car. Not it's speed, but simple things like parking.

I've seen many struggle with parking when it comes to such sports cars. You have to realise that the GTR and the S5 is much larger and wider + longer. Since the TS has already been driving a ferrari before, the width is not an issue, but length maybe.

Give some considerations when buying your favourite car. I'm not telling you how to spend your money, but rather, some humble friendly advice.

Buy a car that you would like, and something that would make you happy.

Have fun, car scouting.

of course GTR , my dream car

I think the S5 sounds nice too... i'm sure there is something that can amplify the exhaust sound... maybe Milltek tuning, ECU, air intake & exhaust could add a total of 50bhp more. & Milltek exhaust for Audi sounds very good.

hi

as i commented earlier. the GTR steering is a lil too dead for me. it does have the responsiveness but at high speed i dun have the feeling that im am in control of the car. the acceleration is shiok but i rather have control/confidence behind the wheel that acceleration.

given the choice and also import permission. i'll would love to bring in the Holden Commodore VY SS Series II. That is the S5 plus GTR ( at least to me)
