Looking at the pics, GTR looks more appealing. The Audi is well, an Audi. I always had this impression that all Audi's look more or less the same. eg I can't tell the difference between A4 and A6. All this changed the other day when I saw a new S5 on the road. It is beautiful! That photo is not doing any justice to the S5. I think it would look a lot better at eye level, more like the GTR pic. Would be better with the S5 showing more of its butt. Man! it is beautiful. That was most of what I saw while driving diagonally behind the S5.

i dont think you can par s5 with m3, or clk 55 amg.
they are really on different cats.
s5 has been matched with 335i.

:o hahaha .. if u cant par the s5 with the M3 and it can only e compared to a 335, then the GTR would be the obvious choice hands down. When the S5 is long forgotten, the GTR will still be a cult car ;)

yes...s5 is beautiful...subtle yet V8 4.2 liters.

love the seats even more.
audi-s5d.jpg

it's so much more comfortable as compared to the GTR seats...

yes...the norm is to compare it to 335.
m3 is out of the league.
not to mention the price.

as to comparing GTR with S5, it's because both are in the SAME price range.

performance wise, no doubt, GTR sure beats S5.

Tan chong WILL bring in the GTR.but because now they had just launched the 370z, they wont officially launch the GTR.

but tan chong GTRs will easily be priced at 330k and above, but their omvs are higher though.

meaning tc only bring in on indent basis?

i have bad experiences dealing with PI so i rather stick with distributors unless its some ltd edition version i am looking at.

prob not indent basis.i guess they will bring in a couple of units.then if choice color dont have, then by indent basis.

to buy from //, you NEED to do homework well.and you MUST know your stuffs.else...game over.
but i know a few GTR owners, they all had good experience with their // agents.

actually the worst thing to happen with a PI is they under declare your omv.

just look at the s5 seats....moreover lumbar support is adjustable.
GTR's cant.

Wow!! See what I mean. Just look at that S5 from behind!

Anyway, the other car that I dream about is the C63 AMG.

that's story in the past.
those people had been fined heavily.

but even if they declare BUT they sell you car cheap, no issue.consumers gain.we dont lose.

prob is they under declare, and they sell you high price.

the most recent one is early this year right? i remember a dealer friend telling me abt it cos another friend was working there. :bsmilie:

anyway, not to steer off topic. hope u enjoy your new ride.

Other than price, I would say that we are comparing apples and oranges here. The Audi is low profile vs the GTR which screams its presence. Unless you track, then i dont think the GTR performance will be so critical, but its good knowing and having others know that u are driving a Porsche killer :bsmilie:. I personally dont like the S5 shape and i think it will grow "old" very fast .. but thats jus my opinion.

wait till you hear the v8 roar.
though it's restricted by the catalytic convertors..
when i whacked the S5, the v8 roar was still very distinctive.
love it.

but when i whacked the GTR, the accelration simply overides ANY other 'flaws' it has.
i still couldnt get over it's acceleration....simply orgasmic...

thanks flipfreak.i hope i really do settle with one of these rides.
:)

i have a porsche 911 in my stable.and i dont like the way GTR has been branded as a porsche killer.cos in terms of pricing and luxury, porsche still wins wor...:bsmilie:

I would say that the GTR has been branded a killer more likely because of price performance ratio. A Porsche is a Porsche ... (not counting the Boxster or the Cayman here)... hahaha.

As with many things, I'd say go with your gut feelings. But since this thread is about MY opinions, I'd say go for the GT-R.

Just because.

In S'pore, high powered sports cars really are just for show only. Limited space to show the true potential of the car. I drive a Nissan March, and I regularly overtake Porsche Boxters and yes, even the R35 GT-R on our highways (when there's a traffic jam lah.) :bsmilie:

i use to own a march.
love it too.very easy to park. and consumption is like...negligible.:bsmilie::thumbsup:

the S5 is akin to Sean Connery/Roger Moore/Pierce Brosnan as the GT-R is akin to Daniel Craig. all are James Bond and they get the job done (all the same). one gets the job done in tuxedo and the other in casual clothing :bsmilie:

oh... i intentionally left out Timothy Dalton and George Lazenby as they are not worth mentioning...
