Just great shots from you fengwei.
You got the ability to snag great people shots.

Your shots are so sharp. clean and white.
Any tips to share on how to achieve it?
Exposure (is the histogram in the middle?) ; Raw/JPEG?; focus point, PP?

Thanks

I find that when I move the photos online, I loose a lot of contrast and sharpness. Any remedy (Flicker is better than Picasa and Photobucket in these respects).

i think if you use photoshop, upon saving your file, uncheck the box with ICC profile at Adobe RGB (1998), it helped with the lack of contrast for web displays..before this my pictures would look washed online but perfectly fine on my computer.

Actually I do include the ICC profiles in my most of my files. But before going to that, different browsers manage color differently so it is important to know if your web browser is able to read color managed files. I have found the following link useful http://www.gballard.net/psd/go_live_page_profile/embeddedJPEGprofiles.html

Firefox for example couldn't render some colors nicely and I didn't know that color management was turned off by default. Only when I changed the default setting did it display more accurately (gfx.color_management.mode set to 1).

Thanks Denis :)

besides ability, is boldness…

You know me better than the rest ;)

Great capture, FW. I so like his T-shirt, wonder where he bought from. :bsmilie:

Thanks. I didn't notice the T-shirt until you said so. It does look cute, I don't mind getting one for myself :D

Thanks JK.

As I've told quite a few guys, I use M mode most time. Since the light doesn't change much along the way, I'd take a couple shots and get the right exposure, then just fire away :)

K7 produces pretty decent JPG outputs, I use JPG most time, unless the light sources are a bit tricky or it's for some very important events (weddings/company events etc.)

I only used FA77 on my digital during the outing, and center AF point for all shots.

As to post process, Denis is far better a guru than me. My PPing is very simple:
load the photo, crop/tilt if needed, exposure/brightness adjustment if needed, level adjustment, curve adjustment, resize, a bit sharpening. Each photo shouldn't take more than 1 to 2min. If it's more than that, I'd move on to another photo (unless I only got one shot which has to be saved).

Here are some film photos I took on that day, all done by an LX and K17/4 fisheye on Fujifilm Reala 100:

I really enjoyed looking at Fengwei's recent film-exposed uploads above! The inherent dynamic range advantage film has is also easily noticeable as well!

wow...great photos fengwei!
And wonderful shots from everyone too...I am amazed we went for the same outing but your perspectives are so much better than mine..
