I admit, If i was a new user that was looking to get a pro level dSLR, I would go for nikon now.
BUT, I already have a collection of canon L lenses that took 2 years to buy, and most pros using canon would have reached this level, if not further. It's the cost of swapping all these lenses for nikkor lenses that deters me. (not to mention my spanking new 1D mk3)
So although people may exclaim and moan about the new nikon dSLRs, I don't think many pros will be tempted over. (but the new consumer... that's something else...
)

hmm.. just 2 day ago, i distinctly remember a lot of people here visiting the other side berating nikon and declaring dat they will jump ship... oh well, can't please everyone.
just contact a shop today. the shop dun have the official RRPs yet for all the new stuff.

D3 will lead the 35mm DSLR categories but not on the MP side, yet. sweet dreams are made of these!

I'm sure quite a number of folks may just jump into buying the new cams and lenses. And the rest will wait for reviews before committing on the major investment.

Hehehe, too bad I just bought D200 several months ago, hence it's very difficult to get the new babies. I think i still have to learn how to max the D200.
Anyway, regarding the visits to other subforum, After Nikon launched the news, my Nikon friends also visited Canon subforum more frequently, probably to watch the panic / pissed reaction on the other side (feeling good ? naaah).
Some people @ other forum sound like "devastated", if that's the correct word.

This past few weeks, seems to me like each of the superpowers (Nikon & Canon)just Exploded a Nuclear device to prove to other that they are a force to be Reckoned with. I must say Canon one is a Technological break through with 21mp FF, while Nikon Finally answer the call for FF and having 51 Af sensor. This is a day that we will remember for Nikonians.:devil:
