with the short time i have,i don't see any actually, and highly doubt so,cause there is no electronic connection on it,so i don't think it is possible or has any

Some good and bad news:

  1. The good news: From this video, it seems like there will be AF in video mode.
The bad news: it sounded pretty noisy and a little uncertain.

Anyway, most people would not buy the camera because of its video features alone. I would shoot video in MF mode with this camera.

  2. Good news: From this video, the 300mm telephoto lens seems to work pretty fast in low light.

  3. Good news: Imaging-resource did some comparisons between the E-P1 and D5000, 500D, E-30, GH1. Their conclusion is that the E-P1 betters the E-30 and holds up very well against all the other competitors. The E-P1 even comes close to being the best performing camera when it comes to high ISO performance. Truly impressive.

One question on the external view finder?

So does it have any focus point on the view finder? How to set the focus point on the view finder? Is it possible?

ext view finder is only workable for 17mm and you will get paralax error as always.

it is small and quite light, why not treat the life view as your viewfinder?

Can Panasonic G1 3/4 lens be used on E-P1 also?

Yes,any brand that uses the four thirds or micro four thirds can mount onto other four thirds and micro four thirds respectivly

cool.. that would make E-P1 more appealing..
Just hope they make a few nicer lens.

that standard started years ago,Olympus and Panasonic are known 4/3 body makers and Sigma produces lens with four third mounts, allowing us to use the Panasonic lenses,Zuiko Lenses or Sigma lenses on any of the Olympus or Panasonic bodies, now micro four thirds follows the same

How about Nikon mount? Are there any adaptor that can mount a nikon len to the m4/3 mount?

I think there are 3rd party mount, but no aperture control and no auto focus of course

The force is strong with this young one.

Has Olympus weaned off crappy LCD screens yet?

10 more days to 3rd of july.. i can't wait.. i hope our sg distros get them on time and have enough to go around...

are they coming out with other colour variants of this model?

i want mine fully black or funky colours. :embrass:

silver for this looks too much like PnS.

better. security guards wont stop you when you take photo cos you look unprofessional :bsmilie:

Not if I mount a 80-200/2.8 on the EP-1 :P hehe

I'm very interested to know how the EP-1 handles in daylight manual focus mode. So many opinions on the other camera forums, but I think hearing from local experience is more accurate cause we're all in the same locale.

IMHO, manual focusing through LCD screen should be fine... the problem for me is handling it close enough for eyes to still be able to focus on LCD screen is the concern, reading glass can go only as close as ~1ft from LCD. That's why OVF/EVF is really important for me.

That is true, it can be a problem for us who are getting older to focus on the LCD. So the OVF would be good, although I don't like it sticking out, never did, not even with the film cameras.

When you use a slightly longer lens with adaptor mount, holding the E-P1 may become uneasy. Why not make an optional E-Px grip that can convert the E-P1 to a dSLR frame. :bsmilie:
