Is it every Canon user (pro, hobbyist ) want to own a white L lens?

i want 500 or 600 f4 to shoot birds but no money lol.....don't mind if they come in black though.

If it's in black yr lens would be baking hot under the sun and this would affect the fluorite element inside, that's the reason why all the super tells are white.

maybe can "white-tape" the lens... :bsmilie:

jokes aside, i heard other manufacturers design temperature-compensation systems into their lenses. perhaps Canon does this too for their 135L, 200L?

So as said that's why they're white. In fact Canon's famous for their white lenses so it makes them more unique.

White makes me think of our gahment :D

I don't think its an aspiration for us to own a white canon lens; but most of us will end up getting a white lens because we need that focal length/aperture and there's no black model available for us to choose from.

Are they really the lens that can deliver divine quality? I wish to have a prime L but it is too expensive for me....whatever I have now are doing a very good job for me so will the L do a better job? And in fact I am wondering will it be a waste for an L to mounted on a cropped sensor...I think many will disagree with me.

if i am shooting bird i dont think it a waste using crop wif a L lens.. (still) it get down to what the lens is use to shoot..

If u've a passion for L primes, u might want to save up for one and some day yr dream will come true!

I wonder why Nikon doesn't make white lenses...:dunno:

Like you mentioned about shooting the wild or maybe even sport, the 1.6x will be a bonus of extra reach. But if lets say I want a wider prime to show portrait, 24 F1.4 and 35 F1.4 makes a big difference in term of length and price. Coughing so much more money to get the desired length, 35 F1.4 is not even a 50mm after 1.6x and it is not consider wide anymore....

Maybe when I have save enough for a L prime, I will probably say why not a get FF to create a bundle of joy...Haha...

Then u've to save even more liao! :D

If u just the 100-400 for airshows I think it's a waste of money as how many airshows do u have in a year only. Initially I was also considering between this and the 70-300 for my 70-200 replacement but chose the 70-300 ultimately due to newer technology, better IS and overall IQ.

Good point.. Just a thought only. If i win toto tomorrow i will get the 100-400. If not most probably the 70-300 :D

how much did u bought your 70-300L?

do u have problem shooting in lowlight (church) condition?

One of the reason why I "black taped" my 70-200F2.8IS
