Is it difficult to sell a Nikon D70?

sommersby, its better that you go buy/sell section & find out for yourself & decide on the price you are happy to part with your D70.

If u're looking at anything over $1000 for ur D70 (not the D70s). Might be hard.
You will not be able to talk up the price of your D70 just by touting its merits. You are the contradictory factor - because you upgraded to a D200. And especially since there is a D70s out there now. You will definitely not get near the price you paid, you will definitely not get near the price people pay for a new D70s, and you probably cannot get much higher than a brand-new D50 (probably same price as).
Everyone would like to buy something at as low a price as possible, and sell at as high a price at possible, thereby minimizing loss. Now you're on the selling end, you hope for as high a price as you would like, but your prospective buyer would be looking at buying as cheap as he can get for a given model, and he would be comparing his cash outlay against the alternatives he can obtain.
Put yourself in the buyer's shoes if you sincerely want to sell the camera, otherwise, keep asking for the price you want, and hope that a fool comes along, since as they say, one is born every minute.

Hard to sell? it depends how much you willing to let go..
More and more people will let go D70,D70s in next few months, so buyers have more picks.

2) put your item in as much buy and sell forum (eg. clubsnap, hwz, yahoo classified, etc)
from all the bidding, you will have a realistic gauge on the price that ppl is willing to pay.
after the bidding end, most probably it will not hit your reserve price.
now comes the hard part, are u willing to sell to the highest bidder (most probably far from your reserve price)?
your options :
1) just sell it to get some money back, knowing that this is probably the best price your item can fetch.
2) re-list the item for sale (maybe next week/2 weeks later/1 month later) hoping for a higher bid next time. bear in mind that the longer u sell, the more value it dropped.
3) just keep the camera or give it to somebody else.

You are right that I am from MCS. Thanks for all the advise. This is my first time selling my camera so I do not know the resale value. I had been approached by an interested buyer who seems very sincere in getting my camera so I had offered $900 for everything including the len. Thanks for all your advise. Hope the price is good.
