I registered online with Starhub and M1 in the first week itself, then both parties called me and send email to come and collect the iPhone 4. Then I choose SH as my current line is with them.
They had stock, but when people walk-in and ask they would say sorry no stock. They reserved those stock only for those who ordered earlier online.
I don't think that if you go and give your contact at the store or roadshow, it will even get to the actual list of reservations. Maybe you will never get their call. But you can try you luck.

A fren of mine waited for the email but never came. So he went to the shop to put down his name on the list. Within a week they called him and he went down to collect.

$888 iPhone is offered by Apple Singapore Online Store. They will need 3 weeks to deliver for free.
Or you may try any Apple stores in the city to pay and carry the set home on the same day. I am not sure whether they have stock to do that for you. You may call and check the below outlets before you run down there.

Or you can try to buy unpacked iPhone 4 from those users who are selling their telco phones without using it. They get a new line with the phone, then they will sell the phone in eBay or hardwarezone or such forums. Try that way too.

The iPhone 4 is currently only available through official channels such as:
1) Apple Store Online Singapore (unlocked, without contract)
2) through the local telcos - SingTel, M1, StarHub (unlocked, but with contract)

I beg to differ with you, bcos when I got invitation to collect my iPhone 4 from M1 as well as Starhub, my friend already offered me to purchase the phone only from me.
I also have choice to sell the phone only (which I get for around $500 from telco) at any local forums such as eBay or such at any price I like and can deliver on the same day.

1. There's no "Apple stores" in Singapore.
2. The Best Denki and Challenger stores you mentioned in your post are not selling the iPhone 4.
And I mentioned official channels, not through forums or eBay or whatever. Like that you might as well include in Lucky Plaza, Sim Lim Square and the likes.

You are correct to say that there are many shops who sell iPhones in Lucky Plaza & Sim Lim. But if the buyer wants a local set provided by telco, then ebay or such forums might get his job done. He can choose to buy from any shops at Sim Lim Square also.
I was trying to help this guy to get his phone whom I think has very limited time and needs the phone asap. So any information is useful for him to start off with, then let him do the rest of investigation.
It is very easy for anyone to comment on others and finding mistakes in other's posts, rather than giving your piece of advice to the seeker of advice.:sweat:
