Sorry Hosea can't join you this Sat. Got some 'kay poh' work to do. Next time round, thanks

Mmmm means next 2 weekends many cannot make it for IR shoot.
BTW nice meeting you yesterday ark19. Let us know when you get your IR filter and join us for some IR shoot. I am sure your expertise can help us.

quite sad...i buy my d70..and i have not gotten a chance to use it yet :embrass: :(

Just bring it out and give the shutter some work out once in a while, no need to select particular subject unless you have already remove the internal filter and only can shoot IR now !!!!. Wah hardcore !!!. :bsmilie:

Tempted to get SB800.... but acc. badly damaged after D70 purchase

Went to Lord's just now as I was in Orchard area... enquired abt the 67mm R72 filter. David called the supplier and found out they will only have stock in 2 weeks time

Bopian.... must make do with "vignette" shots for now.
Actually wanted to shoot IR in orchard rd...

Vortex, should get the SB600 or SB800 to shoot mah :blah:

The R72 supplies should be the same for other shops as they get from the same supplier.... (i think :dunno: )

Well, good luck for ur shoot ;)

Haiz... Thot of trying to get it in Airport.... ahahahahaha for my trip.....

Thanks for the link. Never heard of a harrison filter but I guess it would not be very far from a Hoya R72.

OT After having a go with IR and some experiment I have come to some conclusion that exposure for IR is erratic. Sometimes you get exposure that is correct at a certain settings and the next 10 sec apparently without much changes in weather and lighting the same scene comes out totally black. Anybody have any experience like that ??.

Yup, very difficult to gauge exposure when shooting IR...
That's why I shoot in P mode and just leave it to "nature" to show me the results ;)
Maybe that's also why I keep visiting Bedok reservoir to shoot IR, always turns out differently :)

Mmm I am interested to know why it is like that, I would like to make at least every shot count and have something to see even if the shot does not make it. Anybody can shed some light on it ?.

A simple answer is for IR photography, the CCD/film in the camera suppose to record IR only and which is not visible by our naked eyes, so a conventional light meter also not workable on measuring IR light level.

In fact, I consider we are very lucky now as we can do IR photography with digital cameras, if you’d using film to shoot IR, can you image the high cost on film and processing with unpredictable result?

Here a shot of mono IR ...
Keep up our IR spirit... :)
