Has anyone tried using a 67mm R72 on a 77mm lens? According to tomcat's previous post bout DSLR's crop factor, it should be ok.

Can any users confirm this?

Have a Qns, I shot in Nikon NEF format and when I edit with PS CS, the photo in the RAW editor window (dunno what is the exact term for this...) does not match the actual colours. Even when I chose White Balance: As Shot.

Any Gurus can help? :embrass:

Hey. That is what I found out with my Canon .Cr2 Raw File too. 1 obvious time is when i shoot in b/w with sepia toning. I look at the camera viewer. It is perfect. But when i edit in PS, The sepia toning as well as the b/w is gone. What i got is a full color image.

Again i notice that when i have the R72 on, it look alright with the viewer. when edit in PS, the color somehow is different. and the saturation is very weak.

Anyone with a solutions? :embrass:

Hmm... realised that Nikon Capture does a better job for the initial adjustments...

Edit: Oops, its nikon editor, not Nikon Capture.

Yes, definitely better.
If I'm not wrong NC has a tab that can correct vignetting. Have you tried this on your pix which has vignetting?

Yesterday I went to Bedok reservoir enroute to my Sis place.
Did some improvising with a Hoya 52mm lens hood to mount my 52mm R72 onto D70 for a test shoot. Here are the results:

Very Sian now.... While editing non-IR photos, discovered dust-bunnies... tried to blow them off but can't.... Guess I have to bring down to Nikon service center

:bsmilie: Anyone? I'm thinking of getting a 67mm R72 filter for my D70 kit lens as the 77mm one for my 12-24 is just too expensive.

But tomcat says a 67mm could work on a 77mm because of the DSLR crop factor. Can anyone confirm this pls?

Hi Teerex, made a mistake.
I used Nikon Editor from Nikon View 6 and not Nikon Capture..

Better check, set the aperture to the smallest and shoot on a white background.
Just found out now as I was busy editing the IR photos.
Hmm... actually IR is good for such a case, difficult to spot the dots

Depends on how many cameras they have on hand for service. The last time I sent my CP5700 in for dead pixels, it took them only 15mins to re-map the CCD.

Steady brother. Dust is part and parcel of DSLR. The CCD is static when in use, so it attracts dust.. But then as it's behind the mirror, it may not be so easy for dust to settle on it.

Important point to note is where you change your lens, surrounding environment, windy and dusty environment.

Maybe you want to borrow the black bag from IRman when changing lens :bsmilie:
