Although it's called the shutter count, thot what really matters is actually the CCD usage, rather than the shutter? :dunno:
Not really, the shutter is still a mechanical one... it has life cycle as well... I think should be rated at 100,000 cycles. After that it fails... or at least is no longer warranted to do what it's supposed to do... so shutter count is important... the CCD's lifespan is likely to outlast the 100,000 counts for the shutter assembly but I dun think anyone has really pushed the camera to such limits or at least have not reported it... cos very often even for reporters, professionals, likely other external parts fail first (like buttons, knobs & dials) and since they get their products sponsored and also since reliability is key, they would just buy another unit rather than repair and see out the unit' lifespan...
