very good for a first attempt  a wider lens (shorter focal length) would have caught the reflection too. great place to shoot from, those of us at the "stadium" had a good close up view, but for photography, that was a nightmare...

first of all brudder its a "praying mantis" but after looking at your picture..i agree its a "playing" mantis.. :bsmilie: ;)

No lah.. He was photographing the text and the mantis got curious and peek from the side.

haha.... erm.. it came into my house... we just catch it n shoot, then i let it go

Actually the Cosina lens....even though "did not get good respect locally" performs really well.

I do have a 100-300mm f5.6-6.7 cosina lens - mainly suitable for sunny days, it performed really well given the right choice aperture. My first zoom lens i bought from myself about 9yrs ago when i bought my Minolta 400si.

i also didnt know cosina lens are good.. do all cosina lenses good and reasonable or just a few particular lenses?

Nice one ...like this.
Hope I'm not too late (better late than never right?) ;p

All shot with 7D, 17-35. (No PP done)

i tried using the 11-18, but a portion of the clifford pier gets in the way (coz' i was positioned at a not-so-nice place), that's why i resorted to the 17-35.

Those posted pics are resized....there are actually more reflection.

Is that why after you manage to focus and shoot, the nose is reddish? :bsmilie:

prob gave it a nose bleed :bsmilie: i realised i was that close after i noticed its head "moving" back as i edged closer. long-tiok-boh-siah :bsmilie:
