cool. maybe on thursday then :thumbsup:Agetan said:Thanks... Yes, classic way of presenting images... vignetting using burning.
I have a way of converting B&W seems to work fine... easier to show you if I see you...

pai said:mmm, the colours from the 170-500 aren't too bad actually. good alternative for those who want the reach but reluctant to fork out too much.
nice timing with the flying duck
tankm said:Thanks. Lucky shot, able to approach the bird within 5m and use the 300mm with built-in flash for fill.
The 170-500 is ok at smaller aperture (f7 - f8). Good for resting bird. AF speed is not too great. The shot was one or few that manage to focus properly. Got lots of other better in-flight action, but not focus properly. Didn't try manual focus.
Overall it's a value lens for a 500mm. Now looking to try out BIGMA or the Tamron 200-500. Anyone know if these two are better in term of focus speed and sharpness ?
tankm said:More birds in flight shot...now with the SIGMA 70-200 f2.8 EX (waiting for new owner to collect). Easier to track and AF.

satay16 said::bigeyes: that large? i thought 200mm cannot really take birds upclose. guess 200 and 300mm makes a big difference, cos i always stuck at the 200mm of my A1 and find it too un-tele.
