FF power bro!!!! Can tell some diff between the FF n crop on the M8. Great camera!
Though I do not consciously think of whether it is FF or cropped (m4/3, P&S, M8, etc) when framing, it looks consistent with the FF DSLR framing. I do not crop my photos and the framing to me is accurate enough. Difference? Slightly more DoF, DR, (and some say noise control, but I have not seen anything different at ISO640 with both the M8.2 and the M9).
Colors seemed a bit off on the M9 (using a calibrated monitor), but my old setting was to underexpose on the M8/M8.2 by about 1/3 stop and lift the shadows later. Have not done it on the M9 yet. AWB needs improvement and the camera has gone through the sudden death syndrome 4-5 times yesterday in 60 minutes for no reason during formatting, deleting, and plain viewing of shots taken. Had to take the battery out as turning the camera off will not help. I prefer the framelines of the M9, and the 135 APO is spot on. Previously, I had front focusing issues by 10s of cm.
Overall, I have not shot enough to understand the characteristics of the M9, and one other difference is that I'm using LR 2 instead of CS3/CaptureOne. Workflow is not the same as before.
Will take more photos tomorrow.....
When I see you for the hood, maybe can check out your M9 at the same time.
takes quite a sharp eye to see the difference in dof and out of focus rendering between the 2...FF power bro!!!! Can tell some diff between the FF n crop on the M8. Great camera!
nice shots... whats the minimal focal distance?
just to provide a little more perspective, it is the same 1m min focus as the noctilux.Minimum is 1m. Not quite the 0.7m that I prefer.
These ones on the M9:

The first photo is of a very reluctant subject. This one when the boy is in a happier mood:

I was just wondering why? Those are not typical of your "super-sharp" style! The earlier photos taken with your M8 were sharper. The new LR 2 workflow may be the reason- no super powerful sharpening pluggins yet.
I'm sure it will come. :bsmilie:
That's dan...ger....ous......!!! ZoomP.:bsmilie::lovegrin::sweat:
One grey steel M9 coming up...... :bsmilie:
50mm Nokton f1.1, such a fun and easy lens to shoot with for thin DOF look...
Both taken on M8.2 wide open

Really nice glow-ey shots, cute dog, poodle?
Nice pics. Bokeh is very "busy" in some pics, though, imho, it's all the same in many samples I've seen over the net. Like when it is present, it is the first thing a viewer sees rather than the subject. As monte mentioned, this article is a nice comparison between the Nokton and Noctilux - http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2009/11/24/leica-noctilux-classic-f1-vs-voigtlander-nokton-1-1/.
Nevertheless, I am getting one Nokton as a nighttime lens. If the comparison above is to be taken as a guide, the Nokton is very strong, as it is many times cheaper. Bokeh can always be fixed with photoshop.
