yup. will try it and confirm if there is any issue with my lens. btw, how long does it take to rectify this problem after sending back to the service centre.

this may not be the fault of the lens as the camera could have focused on the edge of the K button which are 2 thick straight lines, very near to the letter K you were focusing on.
I am suppose to buy this lens during the weekend. They have 1 copy left.
During the test this is what I get. The focus should be the letter "K."

This lens is really going places. Now, DXO affirms its position as best in the class.
Exactly why I sold my Nikon lens 5 months before it was realised.... I got inside tip from overseas that "this lens is medium format worthy".

Call TK and ask me to go down..... after I reach.... lo and behold..... fix the lens to the camera and the problem gone..... haaaa...... yesterday try one whole day... try on 2 diff camera some more...
The guy at TK told me the lens need to 开光first... haaaa :bsmilie:
Guess maybe its too new or what..... now the problem disappear..... :dunno:

I had the same problem. Have not done anything yet like bringing it to Sigma Spore but otherwise it is a gem.

Just now i setup my tripod and test the lens using the focus test chart. both manual and auto focus. looks pretty sharp to me. no back and front focusing error. guess is i didn't do the test. haha. now i got a peace in mind already. lol

Sometime we can be too sensitive to the focusing issue. I got my copy in february till now my images look sharp at wide open.i try initially for the micro af adjustment , but still stick to zero
Think just go out and use it..... after a while, it kind of like "seasoned" and the problem just go away...... not a major issue, can still take pics, just an annoyance you need to turn the focusing for it to work again..... or just bring to the shop you bought to开光
It has been sometime. They should have compensate you with a loan set while waiting.

Acually, I believe that all existing Sigma 35mm have focusing issues from first batch until now.
My friend's first batch requires a microadjust of +15 to get constant (though still some misses at times) accurate focus at f/1.4
Today I've tested 5 brand new copies that was just shipped to SG - 1 copy requires +15, 3 copies requires +20, 1 copy requires +13 and 1 copy requires +7
The copy that requires a +7 is the best one I've seen today (of course). It's not too bad, under no adjustment conditions, about 7 out of 10 images shot have pretty accurate focus. After adding +7, 9 out of 10 shots are having accurate focus.
The other 4, no microadjustment totally misfocus.

OIC... miss your post.. in any case.... yesterday I try out and the problem just gone?? So I really dont know whats wrong.... guess if the problem appear again (hopefully within warranty period) bring back to SC to check...
maybe should find a time to go down as well...... last nite, I try again, it happen again... but after a while, its okay...... realise if I focus in dark area..... it just freeze..... but after turning once or twice, okay again.... haaaa.... siao siao one... just afraid bring to SC... then the lens decide to work... dont know how to explain....
