Hi guys, sold my 35mm L and just got my sigma over the last weekend. A quick review:
1) Body is solidly built, nice finishing with a premium feel to it. As good as, or even better than the 35L
2) This lens is sharp wide open! However the vignette/light fall off is pretty strong wide open, can be good or bad, depending on what you intend to shoot
3) AF is slow. Not painfully slow, but noticeably slower than 35L.
4) Really good price for what you get. Worth every penny. Sold my 35L and bought this with a good amount of cash left over.
i never have the 35L so i can't compare it. but notice it feel slow when you are focusing on complex uneven surface on a spot where u want to point at. will try it out again this week.exact same findings as me.... you will get used to the AF speed, initially felt slow due to comparision with the 35L, but after using for a while it feels quite good.
I have experienced some frustration with the lens especially shooting wide open at f1.4. There are many instances where the subject that is supposed to be in focus turns out very blur even though I use the center point focus point on my 5D3.
Is micro adjustment on my 5D required? How many bros here faced the same issue?
