Hello fellow Pentaxian,
Just got my first DSLR the Pentax Kx. Difficult decision, swaying between Sony A500, A550, Pentax K7 and Kx. Took me a couple of weeks to made this choice. Keeping my finger cross that the IQ will better my Panasonic FZ28.
At the moment, quite please with the handling and ease of using this camera. Didn't read the manual but able to figure out how to access the different function quite easily.
Can't wait to test out this camera when time permits.

to flip up the mirror to access the sensor, use the sensor cleaning option in 'menu'
It could be the rear element of the lens or the sensor. Lens is easy to examine, sensor you can use the builtin sensor cleaning system. If that fails to work, you can try to blow it off with an air blower after putting the camera into sensor-cleaning mode.
You can set the camera in Av to f/16 and take a picture of a blank wall. (use manual focus if auto can't lock on). If you see the same marks, then it is dust on the sensor.
Go to the menu and activate the dust removal mode. You can set it to activate each time you power on too but i prefer to do it myself.
After that repeat the test. if spot still there, go to menu and set shutter to up for sensor cleaning. Then use a blower to blow at the sensor a few times. This will remove most of the stubborn dust that the antidust mechanism cannot remove. Try this first.
If still cannot remove than you need the sensor cleaning kit.

yeah it was on the sensor and used the blower to blow it away now it is clearI doubt sensor, the particle is too clear to be on sensor.
