Ironically, her husband shares my surname and so does her younger sister's boyfriend.

I remember being wowed over by those beautiful night scene shots with streaks of lights produced by the passing cars. I was 14 then and never learned anything about photography until i'm 23 while studying in design school. Never looked back since

I want to be able to take great pictures like the masters
I want to record my life and my surroundings as pictures
Got interested when went to a cosplay event as a normal cameraman.
And the hots for photography just ignited in me.

i hv to say my friend. I picked up my S1 last week because i just cldnt stand not being able to take pics..hehe....nv in my life i'd imagine myself playing with cams...hehe

just thought about the forced part, i think part of the reason was that my bro & sis both got a SLR each when they are studying secondary or JC... den i normally would do the direct opposite of whatever they do... so i kinda hated photography then... they would just go around to take their lens out, fling around me, den take pics and develop den frame it up across their rooms... so only til recently that they dun take photography cos sis is married, bro is loafer... den i bought a prosumer to play... got more interested... more interested in various equipment functions than the actual pics, cos being a perfectionist / odd 1 out, i prefer to show the best image i took than to show the average image... so i have spent like 2 years trying to create this product pics that fits my eye... with every shot, i learn something more. so there is never this best pic... but now the restrictions set in again... parents wan me to stop taking pics... concentrate on work... haiz... den gf complains that i overspent on equipments..
i think i got 'hooked' ever since i opened the pages of Life mag (my father reads them) and saw the photos inside during my childhood days. i told myself i want to take those pics. the NatGeo mags lying around at the doctor's waiting room simply reinforces that. i remember saving up my first $60 for a Keystone instamatic camea (110 roll film) and subsequently moved on to a Konica compact (the cheapest f/2.8 i first owned!), a Canon bridge camera (the cylindrical one with the flash on the 'lid'), a Canon EOS 1000F (first Rebel) to a Nikon F-801S and my current Sony F828. now eyeing a Canon EOS 10D (or hopefully it's replacement) and a L lens to stat me off the DSLR trail hopefully.
I had USED a camera on & off for many years, but interest? Well..........
The story? You have the patience? OK. I was in Istanbul, watching a belly dancing. I was seated some tables away. You know belly dancing? Especially Turkish style? I leave it to your imagination. Anyway. I was "capturing" this rather er, "captivating" dance when my Olympus point & shoot gave up the ghost! ****! I scolded myself! But I had already taken a full roll. So not too bad. When I returned to Singapore, I was aghast by the "quality" of the shots! I realised that I knew NOTHING about photography! So I determined to put things right. Having toiled for many, many years, I told myself that I could now afford a "DECENT" camera that would not give up on me. I bought a SLR and a couple of lenses, and enrolled in a workshop conducted by Mr Lim Seng Tiong at the substation.
The rest is ahem! history!

Oh lets be honest here.
I first started when my friend came to camp with his EOS30 and a USM lens.... and I fell in love with the equipment at once... not pictures, take note. Felt like a machine gun ... just bloody "shiok" to depress the shutter ... and let it flutter away....
and then, I got an A40 and started walking around town taken pictures.... and I realise, they were actually decent. Then..... some phenomenon happen....
Never before have I been praised so often.....
Never before has girls come up to me and tell me... "I like your pictures". EVen strangers in university would do that. I was ...
And I was motivated to take even more ... :bsmilie:
As a nature lover, car lover, and a mountain biker...
Photography went hand in hand with my other interest. I realise the peace I get taking pictures alone in the wilderness was priceless.
And so... here I am, motivated by National Geographers, Girls, Cars and sometimes, the machine gun. :blah:

loved photography when i saw my first leica RF camera when one of my primary school teacher was using.....wanted to join the photographic club.... but no $ to buy camera... then quitted the club... then my lust for camera just shelved inside one deep corner of my life as a hidden desire....
just 5 years ago happen to work part time for my gfren's dad's company for a while... until now Full-time in her dad's production house... then the desire came back as i get to play ard with Manual, automatic film cams.. and 2 years ago... i finally can play with a DLSR... which is a Fuji S2pro.... and just early this month.. i just brought a used Canon 10D..... Its a expensive hobby... for me... i started this hobby..... cant stop.... coz... having to record..frame by frame of life...and moment on film or even CF cards (for digital) is just so amazing...a feeling which cannot be describe by me...
thats why now i took on a more serious role in photography hoping to achieve and help myslef and lotsa of other to capture moments... moments that will last and make impacts to ones life.....ahahhaa so like some hero rite talking thingy rite?..... but thats just my thots and how i love photography lohz..... Shoot...everything that means a thing to me....just Shootz..hahah :sweatsm:

I have always been interested in photography since I was very young... But after a really really bad experience when I was in Primary school, I dare not touch a camera for the next 18 years or so.
Back then in school, there is always a Annual Sports Day, and on that day, I bravely stole my dad's Nikomat and bought my own film(I remembered saving more than 2 weeks for that roll of film! Was in Primary 3 then) to take photos of that day.
I happily snapped away and by the end of the day, I went home, Nikomat proudly hanging from my skinny neck. On reaching home, my dad saw his precious camera on me and blew his top. I got the worst lashing ever in all my 8 years of life...
And to add insult to my sorry state, the photos came back a whole chunk of either overexposed or under exposed photos, all of them blurry and out of focus... :cry:
Thats when I put my dreams of taking beautiful phots on hold until a couple of years ago... bought a Fuji 601Z from my friend and started snapping away, and liked the result and continued eversince... And then I got the Fuji S5000.. played with it somemore, liked the results even better, got myself the D70 last month...
Real expensive hobby man!

Anyway, took up photography because.. i'm someone who likes to chronicle memories i am always the one photographing my friends and they all steal my photos !! :cry:

Saw my friend Nikon F3AF.. i was ignorance then about the value for that camera then.. but now i think it will worth more .. slowly after getting in to ITE and got to know a classmate who shoot also. it was 1 day that she ask me to come along with her to SBG to shoot.. had load of fun time over there and soon after alot more shooting trip with her.. Then finally when i had my first pay check.. i bought a FM 10 that comes with a 35-70 for $375.. which i think is still quite ex now..
hmmm... Next went into a F80 then a D100 recently less than a year into digital and i still miss film and the shutter on the F3AF.. solid man.. for those that din have a grasp on the F3..
