i also have the LSII cloudy but that tends to underexpose.maybe i should shoot with .5 to 1+ flash compen.

i have never used the gel that comes with the flash.again, what's CTO?:bsmilie:

white card is for what ah?you mean tape it to the flash for bounce?but sb800 already comes with build in card for reflection bounce rite?:dunno:

CTO is "Correct to Orange" a filter generally used in movie production to make white light into tungsten WB. CTB "Correct to blue" is the opposite. To make Tungsten light into daylight WB.

Then you have half CTB, half CTO which are half the density of the full correction ones. You can experiment with it.

Lighting is fun! Some thing you can do with it.. Set camera white balance to tungsten and everything turns blue, light your subject with tungsten corrected flash. The subject will be correct WB but everything else will be blue.

Or the other way round, bring the WB to about 10000K, so everything will turn orange, then use a blue corrected flash to illuminate your subject, the subject will be correct WB but everything will be orange. Or if you prefer to use filters on the lens, then you don't need to touch the WB settings.

Yah.. white card either taped or velcro onto the flash. The built in one is just for catch lights to the eyes if you're doig bounce.. Virtually useless as a bounce card.

carryin the dlsr with a huge flash and lens is really unglam for a gal lah.

just imagine, we dress up sexily, have nice hairstyles by makeup artist, and there i am pressing my face to the d200 and the flash messing up my hair.
not unglam meh?

if i'm really out FOR shooting, i'll wear jeans and T, no makeup, no hairdo.THEN i'm good to go.

maybe you guys should put yourselves in heels one time or another then you will realise it's not 'ez' being a gal.
