How much Nudity can CS accept?

er, I dont think edmund burke, if he actually wrote that quote at all, was referring to the issue of whether a human nude is considered obscene, but rather a less trivial matter of human injustice and the apathy of men....the latter of which, is another issue here, judging by the number of posters here who would rather take the blue pill and stay in wonderland......

My view is this and i was having a discussion with the Chinese during the shoot too.
I think no one is right and wrong here and frankly there is NO right and wrong. Everyone has different values because of education, upbringing, religion, exposure, experience etc so we all have different perception and tolerance to what is deemed Artisitic or Acceptable.
And since ClubSnap (as its name implies) is more a general, multi-purpose forum for all types of photography (well maybe not artistic nude
I think it's fair to "ban" artistic nude.
And so, I have decided to start another forum not to compete with CS but rather to complement it. It's early stages but I think it will be positioned from the start and very explicitly as a forum for artistic photography. That way, we can will be able to discuss nude as an artform in the right context.
I am an amatuer and hope that the experience ones here can join to become mods.
And if the forum is taken down by MDA, we will know where the govt stands on this issue but I seriously doubt it if the nature of the content is artistic and not pornography (and this will be another debate for another time)

See, that is the problem. For some, it's a zero sum game. They don't like nudes, therefore nudes should be banned. Have they thought about another alternative, a very straight forward one? If they don't like nudes, then don't go to websites, places or forums where nudes are displayed.Benign said:

here we are having long discussion on artistic nude. just wonder how many of you guys can accept their lovely wife or daughter to pose for artistic nude and allow their photo to upload for critic? what if someday you happened to see your love one artistic photo was taken by someone and uploaded for critic without your knowing? how will you feel?

We are not talking about a voyeur who steals shots of your naked wife or daughter and post them. And if your wife or daughter engage in these activities without you knowing, I think you have a real problem. Where is the honesty within the family? Obviously they do not trust you! Whoa!!!

I have been in photoshoots where the models were brought by their husbands, and in one case, with her son. In the latter case, the son was around when I photographed her mother.
The son was brought up to understand the beauty of the human figure and not see such work as degrading, which is what was obviously in your mind.

The place where the 8 to 80 can settled in for a cuppa, contents and discussions are well received by the majority. Not the dominant minority who tried and tried to impose his/her views on what and how photography should be......

I may have give the wrong impression when I said in my Oriental Beauty thread that the model looks very sad like kena forced. I would like to clarify that she is a professional who models for photography, drawings etc. The studio conducts a nude shoot 2x a week and the quality of the shoot is quite good. We also have lively discussion on this topic as well.

Nudity is REALLY a state of the mind! The authority is NOT worried about nudity in Singapore because they know that there are many people who are matured enough to appreciate it but they also know that they are many more people who have different views, and as such it is not always possible for them to let go freely ....
It is only in Singapore, that even a single negative letter to the press will change a law! :dunno:

I think for my country to stay peace for so long. 1 major strength of us is to be able to compromise to the difference in each others' culture and believes. We dun fight for just individual rights, because we feel like it. :thumbsup:
