hi guys, i got a Canon A40 and it's great. but yesterday was the 1st time i'm tranfering the images to the com.. then the image turns out to have lots of noise... u get wat i mean? but io dun see those in the LCD... It's like there are small littles dots... all around.. making the pic feels so dirty.... not like those clean n clear types u guys have posted... can anyone help me solve this prob??? thanks

Which mode did you use? Auto, Program AE etc (Manual pg 17)? Try using Auto or Program AE.
What is the ISO been set to? Try to set to Auto or 200 and below (Manual Pg 79).

Hi chillin, erm.. which mode do u use normally? and what ISO speed do u use?? What resolution (L,M,S) What compression(super fine or fine) Thanks...

I was wondering how come the pics looks so clear, clean n nice on the LCD ... but turns out to have interruptions when transfered.... :dunno:

Day time I will use Program AE while night shoot I will use manual most of the time. Normally I set to Auto, Resolution - L, Compression - Superfine. Maybe you would like to post a photo with the setting. You may see the setting from Canon zoombrowser.

im an ex A40 user. it a gd camera.... bery gd...but the iso 200 to 400 is terrible for nite scene.... as gd as disable it... too many noise...

can someone take UNEDITED nite pictures of animals without flash with full 3x zoom?
best if ur a newbie(like me) and uses most of the things in auto except the iso...

but dun think u can take animal pics at night without flash as animal moves at fast speed.....need fast shutter speed.

I tried ISO 50 and 400 for some night shots, there are great great difference man! i was so shock and sad when i saw the noise on the pics taken using iso 400.....but later when i see those taken using iso50, I was so so so happy^_^
so since then......i always use ISO 50.
As far as I know, the higher the ISO the more the noise?
anyone plz correct me if i am wrong!

Yes, higher ISO, higher noise in digital cam while more grainy for film. But see from some posting that Digitial ProSLR will produce lesser noise in high ISO.
