Many reasons to own 2 or more (I only own one though)

Backup body, not having to change lenses if you don't have time for that, one FF (high ISO, shallow DOF) plus one crop (extend tele range) combo

Brought A850 few years back n still use for time lapse n some outing. Then came the rx100 to replace another compact. A7R recently as an upgrade/backup for A850. Still got a video camera for kids n tour.

Just like mobile phone, most own a few nowadays.

Why?
I started photography with film when I was 10yrs old.
Years back during film days, you need a 2nd or 3rd body with film loaded on assignments as you just transfer the lens to continue shooting when the 1st camera run out of frame.
With digital, I just mount different focal length lens for a different perspective and backup.
Gopro? when I go cycling...
