If this means more 5D and 5DMkII would be appearing in BnS, I'll be waiting eagerly. :D

Yes lah.....
I hope its true, I hope its true, I hope its true, I hope its true, I wish its true, I wish its true, its true, its true, its true.........:D

I already see quite a few 5D2 in BnS :bsmilie:

Yes, I think so too. But other than these specs. There aren't many new things in the camera domain at the moment that will interests DSLR users. Maybe with a few exception as in built-in wifi, a-GPS?:dunno:

Or a newly developed in camera image stabilization sensor to complement the IS lens with 6 stop compensation? that will be nice.

So do you think there will be a simultaneous release of both XD and XXD?

Can anyone enlighten me, in the past, is it happened before, where Canon release 2 EOS / SLR in one time?

Canon did announce 1Ds Mk III and 40D together.

Could the 1Ds be renamed to 7D and history repeats itself with a 7D and 60D launch?

I really feel the pain for 40D owners. Within a year 50D. 2 years on 60D. I hope the 5DMkII don't suffer the same fate. Top notch cameras should have a longer shelf life...

I was an ex 40D user and an early adopter. Wasn't tempted for upgrade to 50D when it was announced as the difference was unsubstantial in my opinion.

Quite a number of people still chose to buy 40D when 50D was already out.

Should start a thread for people who own both 40d and 5DmkII to report in. Me , also one of them, maybe can talk to Canon, offering buy back incentive for loyal customers like us. Honestly I don't think it is necessary to upgrade if there's no need to. At most I dump 40d in B&S section if the performance is good and cost is reasonable.

i dun think the 7D will outshine 5D2. But if it is almost close to 5D2 with FF, would be a nice B cam. Otherwise it would be to wait for the 2nd hand 5D2 here =)

I am a previous owner of 40D as well. I sold it off as I am upgrading to 5DMkII. The 40D price in B&S fell from 1.3 to 1k when the 50D was released. My heart pain as I lost 0.3 overnight. If the 60D is released, expect the 40D to be around 0.7 - 0.8 level.

Same goes for the 5DMkII. If the 7D is FF, I would expect it to fall to 3.2 overnight.

I wun be as I have no further need for anything higher spec. The 5d mkii will serve me well as I am not into photgraphy professionally. Moreover the IQ and specs on it is all I would ever use coupled with two top notch lens I got. Upgrading for me would only be in the form of adding new lens. Ü

have fun ya all hopeful upgraders. Ü

i think it is true that ppl should look at lens not body for upgrade, a better body will not give you the bokeh of a 35 F1.4 or 50 F1.2 or 85 F1.2. :)

Time to sell my last EF-S lens..
Must prepare for FF cameras at $1.5K within 2 years..

i'll kept my beloved 5Dii, and buy 7D as 3rd girl friend:heart:. I still keep my 40D:bheart:, LOL.

I will get 7D if it have a built in battery grip. :)

If the 7D can take EF-S lenses and within a good budget, i'm sure i'd get one.:bsmilie:

GMAN

im sold if smaller form factor and the built-in grip :)

i bet canon will sell to people who are after the looks of an integrated grip.

I am a 5D2 owner, but I look forward to more exciting DSLR release, better still, 5D2 beating camera at price of 1000D. What diff does it have on me ? I already paid for my 5D2, it doesn't make me any poorer. But it does give more options for me to get a good second body.

What I'm really forward to are the followings:

1. A good EP-1 equivalent from Canon, though that's not likely to come true for long time to come, knowing Canon.
2. A good spec 60D, that will push down the price for crop sensor body, a opportunity for me to get a second body. This is highly likely.
3. A good spec 1D body, just to get the kick to see Canon kicking Nikon ass with their D3/D3x. This is highly likely.
