How did you get fundings for expensive equipment?

I woo rich Tai-tais so they buy me my gears.

I shoot old tai-tais using my P&S. den show them lousy photos. I tell them, its the equipment's fault not the photographer. Next day they will buy me a new camera. I shoot for them again but this time, I use PS to edit, remove their wrinkles, make them slimmer etc... They loves it so to them its $$$ well spent..

for me its just from my pocket .

I usually go for value hunting ..gears i buy used ones .

it should work just right ..1st hand or 2nd hand doesn't matter as long its a value for money.

Let's look at things IN perspective...

I went down to where a large group of photographers were at PhotoAid over the weekend ...

Apparently, a young photographer saw me both days; the first with a monstrous white thing (it was a 70200 2.8 L IS) and the next with a 16-35 L MkII.

He mentioned something about my 'expensive gear', and I told him, in all good-natured honesty, the 16-35 took me over 4 years to SLAVE, SWEAT and SAVE for, and technically speaking (since I lusted over the first ever Nikkor one-touch 80-200 f/2.8 ED lens back in the 80's ...) , it took me over TWENTY BLOODY YEARS to save up for any sort of 70/80-200 f/2.8 group category lens!

Back then, there was no such thing as 'ZERO-INTEREST EASY PAYMENT CC' schemes or what-have-you that almost everyone has access to these days ('Everyone', if you're clever enough!)!
