Axela, glad it works now!

Ok so my 3rd day with the 80-400 I went to the mandai zoo. I have at least 400+ white tiger shots lol. Picked a few of the reasonably viewable shots to showcase this lens.

Just in case, my blog post is here: http://wolfbrother.blogspot.com/2008/11/nikon-80-400-day-3-singapore-zoological.html

I have since returned the lens (it is a rental). I do miss it, but I am reasonably annoyed at the zoom handling. I think I could have lived with the slow AF speed. One thing to note, today I went to the botanical gardens to fool around. After using the 80-400, my 70-300VR feels really, really cheap. ;)

It's an egret. They made the Tengah Airbase people very frighten because they are worried these birds will fly into the multi-million dollars jets...

You can read more about them from here.

BTW, if you are at home around evening time, sometimes you can see them flying "home" in vee formation. Quite cool!

Hey guys, what kind of body are you using with the 80-400? I'm wondering if upgrading to a D300 helps, as right now, my D200 isn't exactly very fast with it....

I am using it with D200.... seriously.... The noise is very bad at iso400 for D200 at low lightings... if you were to upgrade, best choose a body that can give you a clean or near clean image at high iso....

Why need iso? the reason is to compensate for higher shutter speed of at least 1/250 for handheld shot at 400mm.
