yeah! it's actually quite good... I think Neil Perry (the cook book author) hit it spot on with the dressing :)

Gosh, the colours of the soba salad looks mighty marvellious! I gotta try this out someday.

Thank you, Armadillo!

I can't call myself a good cook.. i have sooo many kitchen failures.. I'm more like a recipe tester now.. hahhaha!
And still working hard on the photography :)

just when armadillo complimented me on my cooking, i encountered a kitchen failure :P
I tried roasting asparagus, but they shrivelled up like dried grass in the oven cos' they were too skinny to begin with!

the consolation? i managed to squeeze in a shot before they went into the oven..
they look like a pretty bunch of wild flowers, don't they?

What lens do u use most of the time for food photography?

Yo TS,

Just some of my personal point of view.....feel that some shoots is too flare.
In terms of photography mean OVER, as the subject of the edge cant be seen clear.

dun know whether is my monitor display or.......,

btw, angles is always important on camera lens focus at......but alot of people while using lighting they have forgotten the angles on the lighting too.;)

Hi there,

Thanks for your feedback.

Think you mean over-exposure? Yes, LifeinMacro has commented on that before too.. So I'm trying to improve on that.

As for your second comment.. I don't quite understand you.. could you elaborate, pls? Thanks!

Cheers!

Oh ok.....if u shooting using pro-studio lighting the position of lighting play a important row.
Such as, if u place the lighting just side by side of ur camera and infront of ur subject sometime it wont be right. -
(shadow will be harsh and the result of photos maybe over (flare)

Sometime u need to play around with the lighting position, also on the function of the lighting.
(normal triggle, modeling and full) it depends on what type of food u shooting too. dun be surprise for the result....;)

if u are using normal lighting or portable small product lighting than position and pointing direction is much more important.

trust me, make urself free to try out the positioning of lighting.....u will see the result
honestly till now I still cant really manage the lighting correctly.

allow me to share my work here with........without much editing:D

not to forget about the setting aperture and shutter upon u get the lighting position rite....;)

Chocolate Meringues with Raspberries and Caramel Sauce.

These were an utter terror to photograph! They were so fragile... 2 broke while I was handling them during the shoot.. and I had to be ultra gentle with the remaining pieces!

Yay! Creamy mushroom fettucine is my kind of lunch. Great shot...and I like the use of the dark tea towel as base for the bowl.

Bruschetta with tomatoes and basil.. Made these for lunch last week..

Oh! Happy New Year everyone!
